Built in obsolescence is very annoying!

My trusty (and very old) fitness tracker which still works very well, doesn't allow me set a 2026 date, so in my world it is now 2015!

This and then she disappears on "pawtrol" and comes back to snuggle on my pillow.

Had a really good day writing today. Fingers crossed I can be similarly successful tomorrow.

A grassy churchyard path at dusk at All Saints Church on All Saints Day, with fallen leaves, old gravestones in the foreground, and a magnificent yew tree in the background All Saints Churchyard on All Saints Day. Several small Victorian gravestones are dotted in the near and middle distance, there is the ivy-covered trunk of a sycamore tree on the left hand side.

I spent most of this afternoon trying (and failing) to write more of my chapter. So about 4pm, I went for a walk round my local churchyard.

I shouldn't be surprised at what a bit of #Nature can do: I came home, cooked tea, and have just had the best 3 hours work.

British students lack ‘drive’ of their American peers, says Business Secretary | LBC The Business Secretary has defended comments he made at a meeting with investors where he said British students lack the ‘drive’ and ‘vigour’ of their American peers.

“Too often people go to university to ‘explore research and knowledge’.”
- business secretary, Peter Kyle.

What do they want knowledge for? Heaven forbid that students go to university to learn something!

Image from the Dr_Meming feed on X: A beige presentation slide with the phrase "The greatest research skill you can have is being a nosy bitch who wants to find out"

Seen across on the "other" site. This is the academic vibe I like. #NosyBitch

Picture shows a white cat with a black tail and a band of black fur across her head that looks like a tiara. The cat is half asleep, with her front paws outstretched, under a pale green duvet.

For #InternationalCatDay here is Dotty just chillin'
I send my youngest a photo of the cat every day, as she is working away and she misses her.

So this is also a #DailyDotty

A definite childhood memory, we didn't do much in the way of holidays but I remember the summer comics.

"Archives are not inert historical collections. They always stand in an active, dialogic, relation to the questions which the presents puts to the past; and the present always puts its questions differently from one generation to another."

I had a stinky litter tray to clean out - does that count?

Oh, and when Dotty came in from early morning pawtrol and tapped me on the head to tell me to shift over in bed so she could snuggle where it was warm.

True - but it is even better is when it is asked as a question?

That is so true, we are willing to spend £££ on hand stitched linen and wool items, and handmade shoes for a hobby and then buy everyday clothes from charity shops!
