It was great to be part of this project. Hereby the final piece on how a PGPR with defective biofilm formation still leads to increase in soil EPS contents (potentially due to cooperation with indigenous microbes)

Interesting ideas. I would argue that similar to current day succession on bare sediments, there were first phototrophic organisms like cyanobacteria creating biocrusts and bringing C & N into the juvenile soil.
