Honestly got a little triggered reading this and I’m still thinking about it 2 hours later. What a good accounting of the chemical weapon aspect of what they did to our neighbors.

I stopped posting to FB earlier this year because it's such an echo chamber.
I started again when the 🧊 blitz started because it was so firsthand disruptive; I had to share witness.

Zero of my conservative family engaged those posts, despite lots of comments and re-shares. Zero.

Heartbreaking

I spent the last 48 hours feeling like crap. A smidge of post nasal drip, some joint aches, a headache that would not quit, and just tired AF for 2 days.

The 11yo had it too. I think it's going around. Thankfully short lived.

Anyone have a good contact for a local T-Shirt vendor who would sell a shirt and give proceeds/profits to a related charity?

I think I have a pretty clever idea for a shirt, and would like to get them printed and see people wear them in solidarity...but not trying to make a buck off it.

Have you looked at the ticket tracker though? I'm doubtful they will do this (or do it accurately) on this time line given the amount of Red still showing for "critical 2nd installment tax bill" issues.

Every parent in Chicago feels the weight of this. Triple for those who have brown skin, and 10x for those without documentation.

Telling my kids they can't bike to their friend's house after school because it's dark (Stupid Daylight Savings!) and 🧊 is around is absolutely gutting.

Didn't the judge enter a Preservation Order some time ago to prevent footage/evidence from being 'lost'?

And the other subset of people who think it's just great that the violence of the state is pointed at folks just doing their lives, so long as they are on the 'other side'.

Well, pretty sure my wife is getting some of this for Christmas!

Taco 'truck' vendors using Un trompo to cook Al Pastor for tacos, alongside the carne asada they have in a catering tray. In the background, crowds of people enjoy a car-free street, while kids in costume go trick-or-treating.

When crowds show up (and block off the street) it makes it safe for taco vendors to work, and families to trick or treat in safety. Grateful to West Town neighbors for making this happen for my kids and so many others.

In my experience, if you call/email and threaten to cancel the contract due to lack of support, you'll get a response from a VP within hours, and they'll gladly find a way to take your money.

A lot of what's mentally stressful right now is just making sense of the dissonance in life and the huge range of crises (of varying speeds and sizes) that we encounter daily. It's so much work to identify, triage, and just move through your life.

The number of people I've given the stink-eye before realizing "oh it's just a single female in that car, not 🧊" is shockingly high.

I'm sadly but necessarily at work. I wish I could ditch the Nth meeting of the day to help fend off ICE/BP, but I'm limited to patrolling my block when the neighborhood school releases and kids/families might be vulnerable.

Let's get these up everywhere we can!
