I’m trying for something I call ‘pink flagging’: using beat jumps to skip entire segments that feel like straight repetitions, So there’s a condensed feeling with things CONSTANTLY changing, be it crossfades or jumps within a single track. That the pace of change is a rhythm unto itself.

Hear me out: as a person with an unholy love of heist movies, I say that at its heart, Eternal Sunshine of a Spotless Mind is a heist, just of memories. Yes it’s a love / break up story, but the mechanics of it…. Plus, there’s heist precedent for someone who hires a team to steal from themselves.
