1st attempt didn't go so well. I made a 2nd attempt last Wednesday night. It was ever so slightly visible to the naked eye. While I still wish I could actually see the dancing lights in the sky w/out the assistance of a camera, I still appreciate the colors and patterns that the camera picked up.

Congratulations on the win. I hope you're able to do what you're trying to do. I hope it works out.

We're getting closer to autumn. I know we're not quite there, yet, but...we can pretend, right?

So stoked. I got to conduct my first ever Milky Way/Astrophotography workshop in #DeathValleyNationalPark. It was such a beautiful afternoon and night. So stoked we got out there and got some shots in Badwater Basin. We'll cover the post-processing with them tomorrow morning.

This is potentially what Yale professor and author, Jason Stanley (and two of his colleagues at Yale) saw that prompted him to leave the United States for Canada. Stanley is an expert on fascism and has left the country due to the current administration.

I know y'all (meaning Congress as a whole) voted this cabinet into position, but isn't it more than clear they're incapable of performing even the most basic tasks?

This was legitimately one of the coolest things I have been able to do.

As part of my job, I was given access to nearly everywhere before, during, and after the race.

Focus on GOP swing seats & key committees. Energy & Commerce is where the Medicaid fight will go down. Ways&Means for tax fight.

This is exactly what they're trying to do, actually. They're trying to get rid of all of it.

Just don't buy a Tesla.

It also feels like maybe this is intentional considering how quickly Musk offered his services as the CEO of SpaceX to help "fix" the problem. It's almost as if they created a problem that they want us to believe they're the only ones who can fix it.

That's because it's not really about efficiency so much as it is about taking as much from us as possible to give to their billionaire friends.

I guess the difference between the stats you found and the ones I found are civil aircraft versus commercial? Not being in the aviation industry, I didn't consider those different things, really. Have all of the accidents this year been commercial so far? I know at least one hasn't been.

Statistically, there are about 1200 plane crashes every year (~3.2/day). I think we're hyper reporting it right now bc of what Trump did to the FAA.

I wasn't able to photograph the #50501 protests that happened all over the U.S. today, but I did get out for an anti-Trump/Musk protest that happened on the @cityoflasvegas strip on Saturday.

Genuinely curious why @cnn.com @foxnewscorporation.bsky.social haven't covered any of the protests.

I'm in a newly turned red state, but in a rather blue city. If I had to guess...This is roughly 100 people? (I'm terrible at guessing.)

Either way, it's not enough.

MAGA Americans are only about 33% of the GOP and only about 15% of the American adult population. However the GOP, as a whole is about 28% of Americans. The problem is they hold both houses of Congress, the SCOTUS, and POTUS. So, legally, there are very few options for us except to simply resist.

I don't think this accurately represents the situation. It's far more nuanced than this. It's not clear the military would even follow the orders to invade if the order was even given (which is doubtful). Plus, nearly every Democrat & Independent in the U.S. is on the side of Canada. (That's ~72%.)
