07.08.2025 22:26 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Wonderful!
Iโm still trying to decide which rumba Congolaise to post! There are so many to choose from!
My sonโs nose.
(Did you see the follow up post?)
I thought so.
I was going to post the more famous Taiyo song by Misora Hibari, which is equally groovy, but think Iโve done so before.
Thanks for the good wishes. Itโll be lovely having the lad back for a few days. His sister is SO excited!
Great choice.
And welcome (back) to Japan! Are you here long?
Huzzah for the Otway!
07.08.2025 22:15 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Well, thatโs going to be stuck in my head all day now. Gee, ta!
But, regardless, an excellent choice, very much on brand!
Aha! We kind of match again. Is he really using heather as a name here? ๐ค
Another fabulous song from The Man (by which I donโt mean Joe Jackson!)
I would love to go. In reality, itโs unlikely but Iโll let you know if itโs possible.
07.08.2025 22:06 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I guess I should explain.
Taiyo is a name, but can also mean โsunโ.
โHanaโ, here, means flower, so the song is called โsun flowerโ.
However, thanks to homophones, it could also mean โTaiyoโs Noseโ.
Which amuses me more than it should!

8 Taiyo
In honour of my son, who is returning from the big city today for a few days holiday. Twisting the rules slightly, but who'd complain when the song is this wild and cool?

Well, exactly.
So apologies for any less engagement I may have.
My wife actually just said: ๅฏใ.

When/where is it exactly?
Yes! It can take a while getting through them sometimes.
Iโm not sure how Iโm going to manage from tomorrow as my wife is now on her short summer break and strangely she doesnโt have much sympathy for my need to compulsively check out everyoneโs musical picks over breakfast!
Bon voyage!
07.08.2025 12:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I really like all three of this groups albums. Such a gorgeous fusion of sounds and textures.
07.08.2025 08:48 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Hope you werenโt intending to be scuttling around getting lots done!
Nope, never seen them. Would love to though. I really dig their vibe, man.
Iโve posted them once (maybe twice?) before in challenges.
It is a truly remarkable piece of work.
As is the man himself, from all accounts!
Isnโt it just?
YTK have three albums of equally beautiful music. Well worth diving into.
I listened to an audiobook and found it quite interesting. And disturbing, when I realised it was written about 15 years ago and so much is now reality.
There is apparently a film adaptation which from all accounts is crap.
There is also a sequel to the novel, but Iโve not read that yet.
First class sequencing!
07.08.2025 08:39 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Have you read The Circle by Dave Eggars?
His novel about a dystopian hi-tech future seems to have been horribly prophetic.
Oh right! I got the feeling sheโs a major character. Iโm relieved I didnโt reveal myself as a complete ignoramus!
07.08.2025 02:16 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0I think it all ends here.
Unless I think of something odder.
Another sterling pick. Your roll rolls on.
07.08.2025 00:34 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0What a great version of one of my favourite B&S tracks. Excellent pick.
(Who is Monica Queen?)
Cool quirky little song.
07.08.2025 00:22 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Mr Ogada, I presume.
Old favourites fer sure. That was a very enjoyable soundtrack to walking up to my veggie patch on this comparatively chilly misty morning. (The heat wave / drought has finally broken)
