Thank you, that's very good to know, and I appreciate you taking the time to answer a relatively plot sensitive question.

Also, release the Lux List. That is exactly my autism.

Hello Mr. Gillen. You've kindly answered some questions for me before, so I want to ask, if it doesn't qualify as a spoiler, how was Etienne able to determine who would become a Superpower, when apparently only Jacky could do that?
@bretdevereaux.bsky.social
This might be one of the odder "thank yous" you've received, but your series on practical polytheism really helped me flesh out the metaphysics and terminology of my superhero novel. "Numen" is a really wonderful word.
@kierongillen.bsky.social I have a question for you. You're big into RPGs, have you ever come across the Wild Talents setting Progenitor? There's some interesting parallels between it and Power Fantasy, which could just be convergent evolution from similar influences, but I'm very curious.
You know, everyone dunks on the whole airport terminal monologue, but I was picking up my grandparents from international last year, and honestly, yeah, watching strangers reunite with their loved ones is like a wonderful drug.
"To shreds you say."
Walter White was always a bitter, mildly unpleasant man--not evil (that comes later) but definitely the sort of dude who actually does work by Hobbesian rules.
I'm all for giving kids unique names, but I do ponder the thought process behind people who give their kids weirdly spelt common names. You're setting them up for a lifetime of annoyance with no upside. Just name your daughter Persephone like a normal person.
If I had infinite money and goodwill, I would definitely have @tomscott.com do fake videos for my stupid alternate history superhero adjacent thing. "I'm here in the independent city of Catalpa.
Also, RIP Power Fantasy Tom Scott, I would've enjoyed your video on Heavy's flying sex city.
Obviously you have to include Olivia Brown's. Either that or:
"There's a poster of Nightbreed, five stars."
--Me.
I'm still slightly convinced "Jack the Ripper" was just some rando.
It's always interesting to imagine what kind of contexts "our" pop-media would gain in fictional worlds. Like, in one Wild Cards volume, a character is mentioned as having dressed up as Harry Potter as a kid. How does the existence of aces and jokers impact that kind of wainscot fantasy?
Oh, on the subject of survivors, going by that poster of Nightbreed in the white sphere issue 2, I'm guessing Clive Barker got some very bad news on set one day. Though, now I wonder if the version Heavy would've seen was in dialogue with the Atomic Family.
I assume Heavy threw us into space in the 70s and we just kept keeping on on the Moon, grateful the hard vacuum killed all the spiders. No longer must we worry about Peppa Pig getting our kids killed.
I really hope this means they lull Deconstructa to sleep with their cover of "Elephant"

I literally joined this site to say #4 of Power Fantasy is the best single issue I've read in 2024. I've been hooked on your stuff since Wick Div, but PF feels made "just for me." Look forward to more from you and Caspar.
