Just finished watching Dept Q on Netflix. Brilliant series, if very dark and graphic
Went to the new gym in Newcastle after work today. Seems decent, with lots of equipment and seemingly-sane people. Was only a short visit and will have a longer workout tomorrow.
This has made my day! I ferl sorry for the impact on passengers nooked on flights operated by this aircraft and wonder if they’ll get compensated?! 😀 www.theguardian.com/business/202...
Having lived and worked in the UAE for 3 months many years ago, iI coul never see the attraction. Now it seems that current conflict close by has caused many to re-evaluate. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/m...

I think if it were a culvert for a burn it would be deeper and larger. I’d spotted the brickwork too and assumed the remains of a sewer. I’ve been walking up and down the street throughout the works and think this may be the only bit left as I don’t recall seeing evidence of it further up.
Pleasant weekend spent with wider family catching up, visiting grandparents’ grave and former homes. My 95-year-old aunt was thrilled that the churchwarden who let us into one of the churches had been baptised by my grandfather. Leisurely drive back to Yorkshire via Chatsworth and across the Strines
Yes I’m the same. Have been with O2 for 19 years (eek!) and they’re generally ok. I like the included roaming and originally they were the only network to support visual voicemail on iPhones. I’ll see what the new tariffs are in April
Why on earth would anyone change their tariff with O2 right now? Every Sim Only tariff increases by £2.50 on 1st April. I’ll just wait thanks and find a cheaper deal next month, with them or with a competitor.
I’m feeling a bit like that having left them in my work jacket at home while I have a weekend with family. I hope I don’t have any duels!
I think there’s another method:
50 x 6 =300
300-75 =225
225-(7-3) =221
No, not IrnBru but a Chapel Down gin with Fever Tree clementine tonic. Cheers.
The Orange Man Child has saiid that the Iranian navy will be floating at the bottom of the sea. So physics isn’t a string suit either. Did he actually go to school?
Lucky Todd!
I only have a few acquaintances out in UAE, ex-colleagues, but cannot imagine the impact the Iranian conflict is having on them. The UK FCDO have now advised against all but essential travel to the country & airspace is closed. Airlines will be amongst those desperate for normality
Quite apart from the human cost & the political upheaval, my housemate (a travel consultant) fears the Iran conflict will massively destabilise air travel for months. Middle Eastern carriers will be particularly affected. They’ll survive because they’re govt backed but may be grounded for a while
The LGBTQ+ group that I’m part of are hosting a showing of The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert in a month’s time at the Tyneside Cinema in Newcastle. Tickets are £15 each and can be booked via www.buildingequalityuk.com/upcoming-eve...
Caught up with an ex colleague for brunch this morning. Nice walk along the river in what feels like early Spring.
Champion’s League match at St James’ Park this evening. Outside Broadcast trucks galore!
Caused some consternation amongst the donor team as I started a bout of multiple sneezes. Apparently this is a symptom of reaction to the anti-coagulant that’s given while donating.
Donating blood platelets again. Am told that they’ve seen a drop in such vital donations, so if you’re a lapsed blood donor or want to do your bit for others, please do consider it. There’re restrictions for gay men (e.g 3 months after new sexual partner) but they don’t affect me as I’m old & boring
Once my washing is done, I’ll do the same here.
I’ve never fancied a tattoo and this does nothing to dispel my view. No disrespect to antone who des, its jus not for me www.theguardian.com/fashion/2026...
Is there a cafe or something you could go to that’s closer? I know the feeling.
Didn’t get to the gym after all. Have been out of sorts all day, although the Lego building helped. Now in bed, enjoying the feel of fresh bedding and have started a new book.
This makes for very hard reading but it’s great that she has found a new partner. www.theguardian.com/world/2026/f...
There are some words you never expect to use together in the same sentence, yet here we are “Today I’m building an Ewok”
Although the gym I’m joining in the city centre doesn’t open for another 2 weeks, they have another site in Wallsend with a £10 day pass option. Seriously tempted but also feeling lazy.
Am watching Inside the Factory. Noticeable how different it feels without Gregg W. Older series had very little interaction between the three presenters, whereas with Paddy McGuinness, there feels like real affection and banter between them.
