Long but enjoyable day exploring the 3 Cities across the Grand Harbour from Valletta. After a curry with my brother, am now relaxing with some wine.

Had a pleasant day on the island of Gozo after a 45 min catamaran ride from Valletta. Annoyingly my DSLR camera seems to be playing up unless I’m on auto ISO settings. I don’t think it’s user error. Auto settings seem to work, will try aperture priority tomorrow. Had a great day in Mdina yesterday

Today looks like bring a trip to Mdina. As a transport “professional” I should try the local bus, but it’s a hefty walk to catch the right one and my brother’s foot is playing up. Ordering a Bolt taxi it is then

I can never really understand why passengers clap when an aircraft lands. It happened on my Air Malta flight yesterday.

Am sitting having a beer with my brother in the centre of Valletta. A very handsome straight chap sat at a nearby table with his girlfriend/wife. I do like people watching!

My brother gave me this welcome pack for my hotel apartment. Just had a nice evening with a curry and a beer by the marina. Very pleasant.

I’m flying business class to Malta as the fare was cheaper/better value than alternatives. For some reason my digital boarding card wasn’t enough to automatically allow access to the Aspire lounge at Schipol (used by Km Malta) and had to log in to airline website to show booking there.

My housemate was similarly traumatised by my decision. Maybe I should hand in my gay ID for being an embarrassment to our clan!

Well that’s me done at work for the next 10 days or so. My planned half day turned into a full day getting a report out but time to relax ahead of a 0600 flight 😱

Hopefully less than 2 days to go at work before I head to Malta, although I fear my planned short day tomorrow will not be very short. The break can’t come soon enough as I’m tired and probably a bit burned out. Have come into Costa to delay getting to work and now finding it hard to leave!

Just spotted that Malta has an M&S Simply Food near where I’ll be staying. Quite rightly, I doubt my brother will allow me to go there!

Reflected earlier that this weekend, when I fly to Malta via Amsterdam, will be the first time in about a decade since I flew anywhere but Heathrow from Newcastle and the first time in a similar period that I’ve even flown east from the UK
