for those who haven't read it - Mary Magdalene Revealed, her earlier book, is a stellar foundational text. it reframed my understanding of Christianity and helped me find peace with the faith I'd spent 10+ years denying. being a follower of Christ is more than gender roles and shame.

picked up Meggan Watterson's latest at the bookstore over the weekend.

already, this passage - re: the lot of Roman women, and the liberation of the early Christ Movement - has me hooked.

eerie parallels to today and the Christian Nationalist project - a multi millennium appropriation.

it is quite literally called Kentucky Fried Chicken, like fried chicken and questionable health choices are our whole thing, when we can't do that right...

After layoffs and buyouts Ziff Davis continues cutting IGN to the bone.

it sucks to keep seeing people who not only work hard, but do really good work, get shafted like this. who have done it at the same places for years even! doesn't feel like any level of the enterprise is immune from it at this point. it's easy to say it's tiring, but the hurt is fresh each time.

oh, yeah, the Dreamcast is... it's a lovely console. to this day, I'm not sure many have as consistent a batting average with their library. granted, the Dreamcast's is in part due to size, but there are so many games that make it feel like a viable modern platform I enjoy! esp as a shmup fan

agreed. Postal 2 is one of my favorite games. but some of the content in it is downright hard to defend in 2025 outside of the 'it's all heightened satire' card. but it doesn't really use the stereotypes to say anything or make a point, they're just there. Postal 4, I think, is much funnier.
