Pink Shirt Day is a time for us to stand together and renew our commitment to address all forms of bullying, including speaking out against homophobic and transphobic bullying in sports, schools, workplaces, & communities.
Kindness & inclusion should always be the norm, rather than the exception. π
We miss you, Ros. Your teachings and leadership have inspired so many of us. Our public education system carries forth your legacy and inspiration.

BREAKING: The Department of Education has ended its directive that attempted to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in schools nationwide.
This is a victory for academic freedom and education equity.

Now is the time for unity, empathy and compassion for a devastated community and families that will never be the same.
Sadly, we are seeing some people trying to exploit and weaponize tragedy to promote hatred and division.
Unspeakable violence is never caused by a personβs identity.
Comprehensive sexual health is a human right. Schools shouldβve leading the conversation with accurate and evidenced based information.

All schools should be sanctuaries of safety and belonging.
We grieve as a nation and extend our support, love, and compassion to everyone affected by the Tumbler Ridge tragedy.
Our hearts are in Tumbler Ridge tonight with the families of those who have lost loved ones.
Government will ensure every possible support for community members in the coming days, as we all try to come to terms with this unimaginable tragedy.
All very important questions and valid concerns.

As a former student and professor, I would remind the President and Board that equity is the process and equality is the outcome.
This policy change is unhelpful at a time when universities should be leading not retreating on important EDI work.
