Yesterday, I asked the Government Representative in the Senate how the Federal Government would assure the UCP would abide by the Canada Health Act and, in turn, work to protect access to and delivery of public health care in Alberta.

Today, I rose in the Senate of Canada as part of Black History Month to pay tribute to an incredible colleague, friend, and mentor Rosalind Smith. Rest in Peace, Dear Ros. ❤️

U of A looks to remove EDI from hiring policy | CBC News The University of Alberta is proposing to eliminate Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) from its hiring policy, a year after the school initially said it was moving away from the term.

As a former student and professor, I would remind the President and Board that equity is the process and equality is the outcome.

This policy change is unhelpful at a time when universities should be leading not retreating on important EDI work.
