Opinion: Crisis capitalism comes for Alberta’s classrooms When teachers are supported, students thrive, families prosper, and the province grows stronger.

This essay lays bare the UCP’s calculated attack on public education.

Alberta private-school funding under fresh scrutiny amid historic teachers’ strike Funding for private education isn’t a topic at the bargaining table, but a petition has reignited debate over it

Sign the petition and say no to public funding for private schools.

We need to invest in public education that is free and accessible to everyone.

Sen. Kris Wells on why we need a made-in-Canada verified traveller program
YouTube video by Senator Paula Simons Sen. Kris Wells on why we need a made-in-Canada verified traveller program

My colleague @drkristopherwells.bsky.social rose in the Senate today, to support my motion, asking the government to investigate the creation of a made-in-Canada verified traveller program for domestic frequent flyers - one not vulnerable to US anti-trans bigotry #SenateofCanada #cdnpoli #NEXUS

An amazing rally for public education. 20,000+ Albertans with one united message for Danielle Smith:

Pay the teachers.
Fund the schools.
Remind your discriminatory policies.

It is time to put the PUBLIC back in public education.

October is 2SLGBTQI+ History Month. Please join me in recognizing and celebrating this important occasion. By remembering the past we can build a more hopeful and inclusive future.

Don’t forget to participate in the many queer history month events happening in communities all across Canada. πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸ³οΈβ€βš§οΈ

Today was a good day.

It was a privilege to witness a very moving ceremony on Parliament Hill to raise the Survivors’ Flag, which honours brave survivors and the thousands of children who never returned home from residential schools. 🧑

As Ottawa looks to trim spending, LGBTQ+ and women’s groups brace for funding cuts Groups say they have not had a clear statement from the government that programs will replenished

Martin Luther King, Jr. famously said that β€œbudgets are moral documents.”

The Carney government must continue to support women and minorities in the forthcoming budget. Equality & human rights must not go backwards.

Net losses: Volleyball family speaks out against new sports-gender law St. Albert family agrees to sign gender-affirmation forms, but pledges to fight the Alberta government tooth and nail over its new fairness laws

The new legislation is anything but fair. It is discriminatory. Otherwise the UCP government would not be threatening to use the notwithstanding clause.

Sask. government seeks permission to appeal decision on pronoun law case at Supreme Court The Saskatchewan government has asked for the Supreme Court of Canada's permission to appeal a ruling concerning its pronoun consent law.

Not surprising. A colossal waste of tax payer money.

The cruelty and unfairness of life is a sobering reminder that our time on this pale blue dot is fragile and unknown.

Live each day to the fullest. Love fiercely. Be humble. Do good.

In the end, it’s not what we did but the relationships we had.

You were loved by many.

Anti-hate bill could mean 10 years in prison for obstructing access to places of worship Law would also criminalize promoting hatred against religious and ethnic groups as well as LGBTQ community

There are many lawful and appropriate ways to express your views. There is no β€œfreedom of hate” in Canada.

If you do the hate crime, you will serve time.

To further compliment this bill, municipalities should also consider enacting their own bubble zone legislation that bans protests 100m from all schools, churches, cultural centres, recreational facilities, hospitals & libraries.

This is the most comprehensive way to keep communities safe.
