things Copilot has tried desperately to help me with this morning: a thread

1) suggesting '10 compelling titles' for a spreadsheet I use to log student attendance

Hereโ€™s how much money Los Camp! make from streamingโ€ฆ - Los Campesinos!

"If everyone who streamed All Hell on Spotify had done so using Tidal instead, we would have received an extra ยฃ31,847.38, which would double the amount we made from streaming of the album in this time period. Or if everyone used Apple Music it would have been ยฃ12,331 more."

I tried dip pens before I had fountain pens. Having to constantly dip is tiring to me even with ink reservoir attachment, also my hands are very clumsy I did spilled a bottle of ink during dipping ink

Pens with airtight cap wonโ€™t have that problem. I have a Pilot Falcon and I filled it with waterproof Platinum Carbon ink, one time I didnโ€™t used it for almost a year, but the ink still flowed fine

What I like about using fountain pen compared to ball point pen, writing/drawing at lower angle feels more relaxing to my hand

Havenโ€™t been able to make any real art yet, still feeling burnt out, so far trying to make presentable enough drawings that I can show people. (CSP UI for CSP propaganda)

An easy way to explain luddites:

Textile manufacturers brought in machines that could do in an hour what would have taken 12 hours by hand.

And then, tried to keep paying the now 12x more productive workers the same wages as before.

That's it, that was the problem luddites had. Not complex.

My take for the trend is that separating practicing the head and the face from different angle can be very helpful and less overwhelming

A digital drawing of one of those drawing tutorials that says 'don't do this, do this.'
The drawing is of an almost naked middle-aged man doing a flying kick. The 'Don't do this' one has a bunch of areas circled and a cross under it. The 'Do this' one is exactly the same but without the circles and a tick instead of a cross.
The text reads 'Needlessly adding red circles will ruin your art' and a smaller bit of text at the bottom reads 'Bonus tip! Add a tick under all your art so people think you did it right.'

A comics page, three panels: one large square on top of two equal smaller square panels. The large panel depicts a diminutive, round headed man waiting at a bus stop amid a busy city scene. He stands with slightly slumped shoulders and arms hanging at his side. One hand holds a plastic grocery bag that appears to have something in it. Around him other people pass by, or lounge on the nearby bench. A bird is visible at the foot of a trash can to the right of the man. Across the top of the panel there is a lot of text. Introductory narration in all caps:

โ€œLOOK AND YOU WILL FIND THEM, THE LIGHTS IF OUR TIME. WINNERS. BORN LEADERS. THE LUCKY FEW. MORE THAN MERELY INTERESTING, THEIR COMMANDING PRESENCE INSPIRES CONFIDENCE, COMFORT, TRUST, AND DEMANDS YOUR WILLING CONSIDERATION.
NATHAN CRUMBWELL EXHIBITED NONE IF THESE TRAITS. BORN WITH AN UTTER INABILITY TO HILD ANYONEโ€™S SUSTAINED ATTENTION, HE LIVES IN A WORLD HE CAN NEVER TRULY BE A PART OF. HE IS BAT CRUMBWELLโ€ฆโ€
And then in large text:
โ€œTHE MAN WITHOUT CHARISMAโ€

Panel two is a closer view of the manโ€™s face. He speaks directly to the reader, or maybe to the narrator. His dialogue is all lower case:
โ€œi wouldnโ€™t say itโ€™s all badโ€ฆโ€

Panel three focuses on his abdomen, where his free hand scratches his belly, โ€œscrtch scrtchโ€
He continues: โ€œiโ€™ve got a decent job. my hobbiesโ€ฆโ€

Re-starting* 30 days of comics late this year.
(*-I posted the wrong thing a second ago.)

Anyway, still shooting for one-a-day and still shooting for thirty.

Some BETTER LETTERER for you. And before the inevitable "that's not how I do it" replies, keep in mind that, by and large, this is how it's done in pro American comics (Marvel, DC, etc.) I've worked for all of them. More tips: blambot.com/pages/letter...
