To be fair, the Greens do get it worse but not so much worse as to be disproportionate with LDs.

Interesting program on flags today, @mrjamesob.bsky.social
Maybe give this a read - puts a lot of context on the sudden appearance of flags.
It is not a representation of grass roots movement at all.

I think @mrjamesob.bsky.social needs to have the Greens on.
I also think Robbie Gibb etc al must go from the BBC.
He is clearly incapable of being neutral and is a poson to our media.
The BBC refused to interview Zack Polanski when he was nominated (joint) leader of the Green Party.
@bbclaurak.bsky.social cancelled an interview with him after his conference speech (which they also didn't cover).
No other party has this treatment.
The BBC is political - this is not on

Correction.
None of them "thought."
They went in with arrogant BS & got smacked hard in the face with reality.
*gasp*

Good lad. He knows and we know, the flags being put up illegally are for purely divisive and sinister reasons.
Netanyahu said that an Iranian nuclear strike on Israel would be like β10,000 tons of TNT falling on a country the size of New Jersey (22,610 km2).β
Israel has dropped 200,000 tonnes of explosives on Gaza (365 km2) - the equivalent of 20 nukes on 1.6% the size of New Jersey.
As a local government journalist of many years I could have easily told these plonkers that there is nowhere left to cut in local government. Actually anyone could have told them that.

They are incapable of tic tac toe.
03.10.2025 21:24 β π 2 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0You are clearly new to my account.
Let me be clear- the state of Israel is engaged on genocidal attack on Palestine & and its people.
The attack on British citizens was abhorrent.
Public security leaves receipts as to his whereabouts & meetings (who). Private is private
03.10.2025 14:25 β π 3 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Would the Palestine March have been wise to accept a postponement if requested?
Yes - it is the human & humane thing to do.
My hear goes out to those in Manchester AND in Palestine who are being killed by those with murderous intent.
There is no difference.
12/
It is not in spite of it.
So many have jumped upon a tragedy of murder to attack others.
Netanyahu used it to attack the UK.
And the irony?
So MANY Jews that I know condemn HIS actions.
Genocide is not Judaism.
So, in summary
Should the authorities have requested postponement?
Yes.
11/
Of couse the Jewish community should be protected - not because they are Jewish, but because they are our brethren.
The protection of the rights to safely practice our chosen religion is part of what a secular government is for.
The current climate of hatred is because of Israeli actions.
10/
In that statement, he set in the minds of all that he would put Israel - the state - on a high level.
That is not the job.
This is our home, for all the people in it. If you are PM, that is where you first duty lies.
And it should never be in question.
9/
Our worth, our value as human beings, lies in our actions - irrespective of creed or colour.
If a politician says they are a "proud Christian" you should avoid voting for them - it is no more than flag waving.
Keir Starmer declaring himself a "Proud Zionist" was his most stupid moment.
8/
We learned earlier that 2 people received gunshot wounds in the Manchester attack.
James was at pains not to blame armed officers for that - but they will be.
Despite them acting to defend the public - irrespective of their religion.
Which brings me to my key point.
7/
In a better time, we would be holding vigil for our fellow brethren who have been killed and who's families have lost.
Protest against violence elsewhere would have been welcomed.
Instead of asking why this happened and how to stop it happening again, our society now seeks to apportion blame.
6/
Had they done so, I think it would have been a fair request.
But instead they were lead footed and made protest against Israeli actions in Palestine equivalent to blaming those protesters for the heinous events in Manchester in the minds of many.
Secular govenments should not stoke division
5/
Protesting against the actions of another state is not something that should be stamped down on.
Margaret Thatcher opposed sanctions on apartheid South Africa, and stood on the wrong side of history.
The authorities could have called for a postponement, given the current situation, for safety.
4/
We do not have enough details to know if such a request is justified - if further attacks are likely.
And I agree with his last contributor - was this request made to all protest groups?
If not, how is that not targeted shutdown?
The Home Secretary should take note.
3/
The call from the Met to cancel the Palestinian March - primarily in protest of Israel's actions on the aid flotilla- was self defeating.
The call for "cancellation" rather than "postponement" was immediately inflammatory.
Even if their intent was to ensure officers deployment for safety.
2/
I listened to @mrjamesob.bsky.social earlier and have a few thoughts.
The attack on the Manchester Synagogue is an act of terror on British citizens.
It is an attack on us all.
We are supposedly a proudly secular society - our government should not act with a view to religion.
1/
We're they trying to elicit sympathy?
Or trying to provoke parliamentary action to play victim?
Maybe even oust him - plenty in Reform are sweating over the numerous financial issues looming on Farage.
Perhaps - if parliamentary action results in recall - he orchestrated this to run with the cash
Reform UK donors are now footing the bill for his security, understood to be more than Β£lm per year. All of Mr Farage's security is now privately funded, because his team decided that having two different providers, one private and one public, would be unworkable.
In trying to elicit sympathy, The Teleform may have landed Farage in trouble instead. I don't see this declared as a donation anywhere in his register of interests...
