The fact that the man who murdered a CEO is plastered across news media with unlimited resources dedicated to his capture, despite in the meantime over 100 people have been murdered in the US since that shooting should tell you that yes, rich people are considered more valuable than you.

A graph titled "Cost of Transport" showing the relationship between body weight (in kilograms) and energy consumption for distance traveled (calories per gram per kilometer) for various animals and machines. It highlights that a person on a bicycle ranks first in efficiency.

Cycling is ten times more important than electric cars for reaching net-zero cities Active travel can help tackle the climate crisis earlier than electric vehicles – even if you swap the car for a bike for just one trip a day.

Cycling is 10 times more important than electric cars for reaching net-zero cities and 100 times more fun.

One mistake urbanists often make is arguing with people when they say they NEED their car for, frankly, whatever. Maybe they do, maybe they don’t, but I find the more effective point is that, if they have to or want to drive, it’s in their best interest that their neighbours can CHOOSE to NOT drive.

Cartoon about regional travel demand and the unreasonable expectations of suburban drivers

REMINDER: Those choosing to live in subsidized suburbs for a bigger house and yard are NOT also entitled to free-flow car traffic capacity (aka an β€œeasy car commute”) into the city at the expense of the taxes, health, safety (hint: bike-lanes) & quality of life of city-dwellers.
