Been working on migrating the Map Preview systems from Dice Tower's Godot 3 version to Godot 4. Except it turned into a refactor because that's proving quicker than fixing my original code lol

Those are good places to start.

The more experience you gain, the better senses you develop for when to make a system. Contrariwise, if you spend too much time thinking up systems without having that experience, you risk designing systems that are brittle when put into use. It's a balance you can only develop from doing things.

As a beginner game dev, don't worry too much about coming up with good systems. Start with making a game, and pay attention to how often you are reusing certain logic. That's a sign that it should be made into a system.

Still a lot of work to do with Dice Tower's Godot 4 refactor, but today you can finally progress to the top of the tower again. MVP core loop ftw

We've been working on refactoring Dice Tower and migrating it to Godot 4. We're starting with getting the foundational technical elements in place, like setting up Controller profiles. It's a long road, but it sets up Dice Tower well for success!
