I grew up believing SCOTUS was a fair, deliberative backstop for democracy.

Watching it now operate as a partisan weapon, protecting power instead of limiting it, feels like the loss of a civic faith.

This isn’t “normal politics.” It’s a warning.

Can the House start filing for impeachment against all of the President’s Cabinet and the VP and KKKrump all at once or cycle through them every day? Not sure how it works but seems like keeping a steady flow of impeachment documents moving through the dockets will give Congress something to do.

Has anyone started taking odds on what country with no extradition the Führer and his family will flee to with their billions in stolen taxpayer dollars and other grift after the election? Nixon resigned. The Führer will abandon his post and leave to avoid accountability and justice.

Jeff Bezos and Amazon spent $75 million to earn $7 million in film receipts, and $68 million in temporary relief from KKKrump’s attacks on him and The Washington Post.

That’s the investment.

I’m struggling to reconcile that this is the same country that once held slaves, but evolved to put an intelligent, educated, articulate and honest president in the White House in the person of Barack Obama.

This is not about immigration enforcement. The only states being targeted are Blue. The highest number of undocumented immigrants are in Red states.

If the current “incumbent” dies soon, JD Vance becomes president and can name Stephen Miller his VP, and Congress will vote to support that choice because they have no will of their own. If it all happens with the first 2 years, Vance can run for 2 more terms. The national nightmare would continue.

And when nobody pays attention to full or empty seats, but notices zero tickets sold and no revenues per theatre, then they will realize this was yet another scam.

So now republicans are anti-Olympics? 30,000 cancelled hotel reservations, people refusing to risk coming here for the games, and now to completely shut down the entire World Cup, ICE now says they will wander the venue, which means beating, maceing, arresting, and killing attendees.

Congressmember Ilhan Omar, who serves as the U.S. Representative for Minnesota’s 5th Congressional District, was ready to throw down with the armed (with an unknown liquid) fascist terrorist who attacked her in a town hall. I am so proud of her that I am quite moved. Grace, intellect, and strength.

What few blue state republicans I know have gone quiet and stopped voting. 🗳️ Many are saying that they will not vote for the Republican Party candidates ever again.

After what we’ve witnessed with this regime, continuing to support authoritarian politics isn’t ignorance, it’s a choice. Every generation is tested. Ours is being asked whether we recognize fascism when it arrives wearing familiar colors. History will remember the answer.

So much horror is unfolding in this country. My doomscrolling is broken up by the occasional pet, flower, or stunning vista, and I’m genuinely grateful for that little breath of beauty. Thank you, Bluesky, for the balance.

ICE KILLS

KKKrump is killing the heart and soul of America.

ICE is what happens when Bush’s 2003 immigration enforcement is treated as a national security project: militarized posture, expansive authority, detention as routine, and oversight that can’t keep up. The result isn’t just enforcement, it’s intimidation, and it reshapes civic life through fear.

The kind of out-of-touch where he says things like: “You have to show ID to buy groceries.”

When this country begins the long work of rebuilding from the damage of fascism, we’ll need leaders who tell the truth, accept responsibility, and govern with intelligence and moral clarity. I believe Pete Buttigieg is that kind of leader.

If your daily intake is “people are being harmed, and it’s ongoing, and it could come here,” your mind and body may respond like you’re living inside an alarm system. That’s not you being dramatic. That’s adaptation to perceived threat. It is real.
