(2/2) What I did know was that it was to be guided by the overarching values of fuelling creativity, driving collaboration and igniting compassion. These values are even more important in the age of AI, a technology that has the same potential to liberate and cause harm #Web37

(1/2) 37 years ago today I submitted my proposal for the World Wide Web 🎂. Today, Rosemary & I spoke with students in New Orleans at Walter Isaacson's Digital History Class @tulaneu.bsky.social. I was asked, as I often am, if I ever could have foreseen where we’d be today. I could not.

Rosemary stood on stage holding a mic and Tim sitting in a chair holding another.

A special evening being interviewed by my old friend Juan Enriquez in Boston @brattletheatre.bsky.social... and no, that's not Juan in the photo 👀 but Rosemary Leith who could do the interview with ease after sitting through every book tour event 🙏

Tim and Tom on stage with a view of a packed front row.

A packed Keplers in Menlo Park, an amazing audience and a stage shared with @thomaslfriedman.bsky.social made for a great atmosphere last night. Huge thanks to Tom for the questions covering the web's history, it's future and everything in between 🌐

Review | The inventor of the web says we can recapture its magic. Is he right? In “This Is for Everyone,” Tim Berners-Lee writes about the early days of the internet and how we might restore its more democratic roots.

“The free, open access communications paradigm we have did not arrive like magic. It was the product of a fair amount of political wrangling” - that's why we must continue our fight for the web.
