If I put down a horror novel every time the author was like “the bully was fat, he had pudgy eyes and piggy hands and he fattly fatted all about the room, rippling with fat” I wouldn’t be able to read horror anymore, and I think that’s one of the worst things about the genre. It’s so tedious.

Idk I think we’re basically done with publishing houses focusing their output on formulaic trash and the vanity projects of the rich and powerful?

I said back when everyone was reposting fake Wes Anderson trailers and John Oliver was marrying a cabbage, that generative AI would be the volcano into which billionaires would sacrifice the concept of truth.

This is deeply incorrect. The fundamental basis of capitalism is that profits are valued over people. Capitalism always results in inequity, & the only places where it doesn't result in hellish conditions for the working class are places where the state regulates the absolute fuck out of capitalism.
