They havent quite figured out as many variant combustible sources for power like we have, because they don't have to. But that being said, I always tell my friends, their air must be so clean. Magic power doesn't linger or quite pollute like coal, diesel,and various other fossil fuels do.

Inar has arcane engines and stuff but also, sometimes someone just uses steam to power things nothing fancy. Magic can run your light in your house but also, sometimes someone just uses regular electricity. Perpetual motion and the wind are usable sources of whatever.

this thought makes me want to watch Wizards for various reasons.

The joys of making my own magical world where security includes both arcane stuff as well as just regular old barbed wire.

Design choices for this are, blue of the sky, green of the land, and the mountains that frame the country to the east/south east. The dragon is because 1. country shaped liked dragon if you squint, and 2. for a while the mountains were a wyvern nesting area back before they went extinct.

It depends on the country. Edora has a council system, every state elects 2 individuals and those leaders duke it out to make decisions. There's also a popular-vote person who didn't make the cut, colloquially called "the mute" they bring in if for some reason votes end up being 50/50 multiple times

Inar is currently going through a mini-ice age so its climate is much colder than ot used to be. Due to its rings and double moon, it already tended to have harsher winters and hotter summers than Earth for reference but now its northern half is feeling the freeze.

The reason for this is the sheer amount of people who live there that came from all over the world, there wasn't really a large enough population from anywhere. they all had to learn to communicate with each other to survive when it was being explored. Now in the modern era, it goes without saying.

The only place in the world where this 'common' language is the first language taught to its citizens is the island that is partially covered by desert to tundra and attached by ice in the south to the south polar icecap. Its handful of towns and outposts all teach the common as a first language.
