And I’m not stating anything particular about Maoism, which I do have many problems with, but you can’t make that argument about “ideological impurity” if there is no semblance of “supporting socialism” by the state.

What happened under Mao & what happened after he died is two different Chinas. There’s no ideological continuation. You can’t make the argument about “not measuring ideological purity” when the Chinese state doesn’t even uphold Maoism, it’s a complete break off/clean slate, not impurification.

I am stumped at how so many of these folks fawn for the legacy of Deng Xiaoping’s putrid neoliberalism. China isn’t “socialist”, it barely pretends to be so nowadays. It’s a capitalist state, like every state in the world.
