笠松紫浪『春の夜――銀座』。この版画に描かれている風景は昭和初期のものです。昭和初期というとちょうど近代から現代への過渡期に当たっており、通りを行き交う人々の中には和装の者もいれば洋装の者もいます。また画面の奥のほうにモダンな建物が建っているのに対して、手前にはもうまったく見かけなくなった寿司の屋台があります。この版画はこのような過渡期特有の空間、古いものと新しいものが共存している魅力的な空間を描き出しています。
