The female dragonrider raises one arm up as she glances back over her shoulder.

For the first book in Anne McCaffrey's now legendary Dragonriders of Pern series, I wanted to create a literal visualization of the title. I selected an aerial point-of-view and tilted the horizon to simulate the dizzying sensation of flight. 1/4

At the time, Ral Partha was one of the big names in miniatures, creating pewter figures for an incredible range of TTRPGs at the time from Iron Crown's Lord of the Rings to TSR's Dungeons & Dragons lineup. It's 1992 and TSR's Dragon Quest introduces a slimmed down RPG experience to players!

Along with the game board acting as the dungeon, cards stepped in for monsters, spells, traps, treasure, and gear. Hero cards represented the characters players can choose from, each with their own stats.
