Day 4: Green Goblin

Journey did have their own video game, but it was more a collection of mini-games, from what I can remember. I do think there was one stage that was a Space Invaders-style shooting mini-game.

In 1983, Atari released its Space Invaders game with new cover art… five years after the rock band Boston released its album Don’t Look Back. So, were we shooting down Boston’s guitar spaceships every time we played Space Invaders? 🤔

Day 3: Scarlet Witch

Those first 25 issues of The New Warriors by Nicieza and Bagley were really something special. This was one of only a handful of titles I followed regularly into the 90s.

That was my first thought, too.

Dave Cockrum’s take on DC’s Blackhawk would have been wild. I’m not sure if it would have been good, mind you, but it sure as hell would’ve been different. And it would have certainly looked good. Cockrum was one of the best in the business when it came to character design.

I loved this title as a kid! One of the few DC titles I collected back then.

The multi-billion $ home video game console industry owes its very existence to this this guy. Jerry Lawson should be acknowledged and remembered for his contribution to digital entertainment history.

Not only did I help make this, but I’ve managed to keep him alive for almost ten years now!

Happy birthday to legendary comicbook artist Ron Frenz. Most famous for introducing Spider-Man’s new black costume in Amazing Spider-Man #252 (1984), Frenz went on to illustrate many iconic characters over the next two decades, and he is still illustrating comics!

Day 1: Doctor Doom

Nope. That comic was in bad shape when I got it, and it disintegrated from constant reading over the years. Last time I remember seeing it was some time in the late 70s, right around the time Marvel’s Micronauts came out, and it was already missing its cover at that point.

#AEWCollision is fantastic tonight. That match between Tommaso Ciampa and Mark Briscoe for the TNT Championship was PPV-level awesome. It’s going to be fun to watch the Sicilian Psychopath in AEW!

Today is the 25th anniversary of the release of Brotherhood of the Wolf, the greatest 18th century France kung-fu/undercover nun/monster horror/action movie ever put to film! Seriously, go watch it.
