This, Digby the Biggest Dog in the World, Herbie, what a time to be a kid!
2026 watch #49 - Adulthood (2025). Whilst their mother lies in hospital, her kids discover that she might be a murderer. Terrible title, deeply average comedy crime shenanigans, but I kinda dug it, mostly because I like Josh Gad’s schtick. Anthony Carrigan from TV show Barry is a bonus. #filmsky
2026 watch #48 - It Was Just an Accident (2025). Shades of Death and the Maiden in this dark Iranian dramedy about a man who suspects another man of being his captor and tormentor. After driving him out to the desert he begins to have doubts and enlists the help of other potential victims. #filmsky
I shared an I-know-you smile with Moira Stuart in my local Sainsbury’s this weekend. I was thinking she probably likes to be recognised these days, but she hasn’t aged a day since she was a regular sight on the BBC!
2026 watch #47 - Together (2025). “Plato wrote that the Ancient Greeks believed we were created with four arms, four legs and a head with two faces…” Two become one in this effective body horror metaphor about losing your self, starring real life couple Alison Brie and Dave Franco. #filmsky
He’s going to need a longer jacket! 😅
2026 watch #46 - The Godfather Part II (1974). Perfect sequel as both the strengths and the sins of the father are visited upon his remaining sons. Original and sequel both won the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay, and deservedly so. Now do I dare watch the coda and sully this rewatch? #filmsky
When you’re too lazy or incompetent to do your own apartment bombings…
Is that the Teletubbies??
We’ve lived with warmongers for so long, but the warhungers are a different breed of human.
Cue them all being asked about it next time there’s a press junket. (won’t happen). Tom Cruise would be an interesting one, considering his recent thumb on the WB sale scale.
"You are healed right now" - right now doing some heavy lifting here! Later, not so much.
A Christian fundamentalist known to speak in tongues is advising Trump whilst the US goes to war with Islamic fundamentalists? I love the smell of new normal in the morning...

Trump’s just ended another war. Ronaldo is officially the GOAT, no way Messi gets back up from this.
Markwayne? This script writer is out of control with their silly distracting character names.
Legacy is a sickness for men such as him.

“The president was right to act. This Epstein stuff was getting out of hand.”
2026 watch #45 - The Godfather (1972). Two weddings and a funeral and a christening. Not much else to be said about the godfather of gangster movies, except three hours flies by. #filmsky
2026 watch #44 - Send Help (2026). Misery on the Beach. Linda finds herself stranded on a desert island with her horrible boss. Fortunately she’s a big Survivor fan. Lots of fun to be had in this Sam Raimi horror adjacent movie. McAdams and O’Brien are perfectly cast, neither very likeable! #filmsky
What the fuck is a Chichester?
I thought it one of the better love triangles I’ve seen. But the only thing I think the remake nails above thIs original is the ex-lover turned connard. Ralph Fiennes is magnificent as the tornado who arrives to disrupt the lovers. Dakota Johnson also has more agency in the remake.
1969, not sure where 1977 came from.
The malignancy is all on the inside presumably.
2026 watch #43 - La Piscine (1977). A much quieter film than the brash Guadagnino remake but almost beat for beat the same story. In this inevitable AI future we could see Alain Delon & Ralph Fiennes in the same film, though I wouldn’t dare pick between Romy Schneider & Tilda Swinton. #filmsky
2026 watch #42 - La Ciénaga (2001). Slice of life film set during an Argentinian summer holiday: coming-of-age teens, bored adults drunk half the time, rampaging kids, casual racism, siestas, simmering tensions, barking dogs and towels and mud and blood. All feels highly naturalistic. #filmsky
He admitted to having seen a lot of dumb deals. 😏
Cut scene from The Last of Us?
