What's happening in Minnesota is one reason the Reconstruction Amendments banned insurrectionists from holding office. Unfortunately, the originalists on the Supreme Court interpreted the plain language of the amendment to mean its opposite.

“Everybody Showed Up”: Stunning Crowds at Minnesota Day of Strike and Shutdown Against ICE Extreme cold didn't stop the shutdown on Friday as some 100 faith leaders were arrested, residents stayed home from work, and an estimated 50,000 or more marched through downtown Minneapolis.

I'm not one for false optimism. But what I witnessed today in Minneapolis was tremendous, both in scale and exuberance. It was a stunning answer to the federal assault on Minnesota, a show of solidarity that gives us something to hold on to during times that are unforgiving.

Nothing but love for my state ❤️

Do people realize how wide Minneapolis streets are? Filling the streets like they did today takes real numbers. Media may focus on the shrinking minority who like this administration, but they're making themselves less relevant by the day.

I would say that the Republicans here in Minnesota refuse to acknowledge this. They can win outstate races where there are Republican majorities but can’t win statewide because they lose in the metro, St. Cloud and the northeast.
