Starting work on a major scene today! We get to meet one of my main antagonists, and she gets to issue some threats, make some deals, and generally cause (heavily outlined and planned) chaos 🗡️✨🖤

This is particulalry true when you had a baby 5 weeks ago! Suddenly scenes are taking me a week to write!!😵‍💫

I think sometimes people are shredding the *readers* of those authors, rather than the work themselves. People love putting other people down for enjoying something.

Same here! Nice to meet you! I'm working on my first novel - a gothic fantasy - and am thoroughly enjoying the learning journey. I had a lovely community on threads, but since migrating here I've lost a lot of the human beings who like to talk
writing, and I miss them!

I think you can change POV mid-chapter with line breaks! I'm certain I've read lots of fantasy books that do that.
