In the Interest of Children: How the UK Government Can Fulfil Their Manifesto Promise to “Tackle Unsustainable Debt” | Save the Children’s Resource Centre “Tackling unsustainable debt” was rightly included as one of the focus areas for a modernised approach to international development in the 2024 Labour Manifesto

The UK can and must take action to fix the governance of global debt so the lowest-income countries have the money needed to invest in their own development priorities, particularly given the latest UK aid budget cuts to a historical low.

We are relieved that the Government of Israel & Hamas have finally reached agreement on a pause in hostilities.

This will protect children from bombs & bullets for as long as it holds but must be the turning point to secure a definitive ceasefire & to rapidly increase humanitarian aid to children.
