ICE Fails Again to Publish Required Detention Data
For the second time this year, the agency has failed to publish the required information about immigration enforcement on schedule this week. Transparency isn't what you say, it's what you do.

We cannot ignore what will come next: what happens in Venezuela will shape migration across the region. It’s long overdue for the U.S. to reckon with its role in creating displacement and choose a different path.
Instead of offering protection to those forced to flee, the U.S. responds with detention, deportation, and surveillance. Our immigration system prioritizes punishment and control over care, safety, and human dignity.
When conditions become unlivable, people migrate to survive. Migration is not a crisis or a threat. It is a response to harm, instability, and the denial of basic safety.
It has, and will, serve U.S. political and economic interests. This moment in Venezuela cannot be separated from a long history of U.S. involvement across Latin America. Sanctions, political pressure, and economic coercion have repeatedly destabilized countries and contributed to displacement.
For decades, Venezuelans have endured deep harm under the Maduro government, including repression, economic collapse, and violence. Acknowledging that suffering is essential. But let’s be clear: U.S. intervention has never centered the safety or dignity of Venezuelan people.

If someone says "why don't they just get in line," send them this.
See what I mean? Psychological warfare. It’s giving Regina George. It’s giving dudes in hoods. It’s giving toxic ex desperately holding on to power.
This morning I’m bereft. They hate us. They’re killing us. They’re terrorizing us. They’re torturing us. Most days I can see it and process it to the best of my ability in that moment. I have to put one foot in front of another. I’ve become disciplined in that. And then there are days like this.
It's an injustice & another example of violence enacted by this admin on the most vulnerable who have protections under international law. The fact that this administration is charging the very people seeking safety is an affront to the American people when ICE's budget has increased dramatically.
“Generally, folks that are undergoing removal proceedings in immigration court are already quite anxious, trying to make sure that they fulfill all requirements their immigration judge has asked for, said Gabriela Lopez, with the El Paso-based @lasamericasiac.bsky.social.
And so being in this grey area where even the court does not yet have clear guidance only heightens that anxiety that people are feeling,”

Folks who want to meet this moment really have to do some deep internal work on how they inadvertently uphold patriarchy, white supremacy, structural racism, class differences, and privilege to truly begin to make an impact. Like for real for real.
Que descanses en paz, Señor Sin Nombre. Mi más sentido pésame para la familia de este ser humano que fui matado por el ogoismo de esta administración, por un hombre vulnerable, y el amor de las armas.
I hate that we don’t know the names of those lost to gun violence in Dallas last week. ICE officers are fawned over while those detained were sitting ducks. We can’t mourn, nor honor fully without names. But that would make these men human and dehumanization is fuel for this war machine.
Today’s culmination of National Migration Week led by @usccbofficial.bsky.social and @catholiccharities.bsky.social provides an opportunity for deep reflection. For me it highlights the deadly ethnic cleansing happening in our midst fueled by bigotry, nationalism, pride, and power.
We need names. We need names to honor the dead. They deserve at least a modicum of dignity even posthumously because they certainly weren't given any when they were killed. apnews.com/article/dall...

This report confirms our worst fears. This facility is woefully inadequate and does not comply with the 2025 National Detention Standards clearly laid out by ICE. We demand the immediate closure of Camp East Montana at Ft. Bliss.
Not a single man, woman, or child should be jailed at Fort Bliss. Those detained there are full human beings deserving of dignity, person-centered facilities, and easy access to legal counsel. www.washingtonpost.com/business/202...
🚨NEW: Reversing *generations* of practice, the Board of Immigration Appeals gives ICE exactly what it demanded, ruling that any undocumented immigrant who entered illegally is categorically ineligible for release from detention on bond — expanding mandatory detention by millions of people.
Proud of the incredible teams at @lasamericasiac.bsky.social and the @aclunm.bsky.social for their dogged advocacy on behalf of Paulo and his family. His wrongful detainment as a law-abiding DACA recipient must end. Free Paulo now. #DACA #Detention #ICE
Today in 2015, the body of Alan Kurdi, a three-year-old Syrian child, was found on a beach in Turkey. A photo went viral, sparking awareness & compassion for migrants who drown at sea. Historians now say it was the last time anyone publicly cared about the death of children.
NEW: In the dead of night, the Trump admin ripped vulnerable kids from their beds, attempting to return them to danger in Guatemala.
We’re heartened the Court prevented this injustice. We’ll keep fighting to protect our plaintiffs & all class members until the effort is enjoined permanently.
