This week I spoke with the CBI, FSB, IoD, Make UK, British Chambers, Enterprise Nation and Start Up Coalition at 10 Downing Street to discuss what more can be done to make the UK a great place to invest and grow a business.

A great pleasure to welcome Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong back to 10 Downing Street this morning.

We discussed the strong bilateral relationship between the United Kingdom and Singapore, and the opportunity to deepen bilateral investment.

For 14 years, public services were left to fall further and further behind the private sector.

We either modernise or accept further decline.

We will build the foundations for a modern British state — so that our public services are there for the next generation.
