The old route, from the end of Trentwood Side, going in a north-westerly direction to cross the Brook by means of an existing farm track, was a temporary arrangement & has now been blocked off 🧡

At the end of Trentwood Side a new footpath, turning right and following the southern boundary of Vicarage Farm now provides the link to the Merryhills Way. This new path was the route originally agreed with landowner Comer Homes .... 🧡

The notices taped to the stump relate to a belated Tree Preservation Order to prevent any further work taking place at the site without council consent.

The sad remains of the enormous, ancient oak tree on the SW edge of the Whitewebbs Toby Carvery car park which was inexplicably (and potentially illegally) felled by unknown contractors last week. Enfield Council's tree officer is investigating.....

The Friends of Gordon Hill Station (linked to The Enfield Society) gave away 200 cakes to morning travellers on Friday 4th April. 2025 marks 200 years since the world's first steam passenger railway began, and 4th April was 115th anniversary of the opening of GH Station in 1910. www.railway200.co.uk
