As the London Plan consultation is published, we write A Letter to London It’s not a housebuilding crisis β€” it’s an affordability emergency. As the Mayor publishes the May 2025 London Plan consultation, we publish A Letter to London.

We are asking Londoners to challenge politicians, the media + other commentators. This is not about 'build baby build'. It's about making housing affordable again. That cannot be done simply by building houses. See our Letter to London (6/6)

Smoke and Mirrors: Enfield 'new town' Are the government's claimed benefits and advantages of this site real? Will it really tackle homelessness in Enfield?

This approach is a lose-lose-lose scenario. We lose our countryside. We fail to solve the housing crisis. We ignore opportunities for inner city regeneration. Join our free webinar on 13th November to find out out more (5/6)

#Enfield's build-rate has been under 1,000 dwellings pa recently. It will be 10 years before current planning permissions are built + another 10 before other #brownfield sites have been used. There is no need to build on the #GreenBelt + it won't solve the housing crisis... (4/6)

There is huge amounts of #brownfield land in #Enfield lying idle, such as the Meridian Water development. London boroughs have already granted planning permission for almost 300,000 homes in London that are yet to be built. In Enfield that number is around 8,000-10,000... (3/6)

#Enfield's #HousingCrisis isn't about the number of homes, it's about lack of #AffordableHousing. Building new housing does not bring down house prices, get people out of temporary accommodation, bring down private rents, tackle unsafe conditions or solve overcrowding... (2/6)
