A VPN to the UK could let you access the full Sounds website, and maybe make the app work again too. VPNs are increasingly being blocked by the BBC, so you might need to try several to find one that works; I've seen ProtonVPN being recommended recently, or NordVPN with its dedicated-IP option

If Sonos is using TuneIn, that seems to be having problems with the BBC stations; might get fixed in a day or two. You should be able to listen live to the stations via the web-player links on this page (scroll down)

Separately, I saw someone say that for those outside the UK, just clearing the Sounds app cache+data might work too, but I can't confirm that. (I know it can be done with the Android Settings tool, presumably IOS has something similar)

Clever! Mind you, being in the UK, just running the Sounds app over wifi (so it has a legitimate UK IP address) should be enough to wake it up again for a month abroad.

Just to update: v1.109 seems to have fixed search on my tablet; thank you!

Try @bbc6musicbot.bsky.social or @6music.bsky.social instead.

This is a bit of a shot in the dark as I don't have a system to play with, but try "play bbc radio 1 london" -- Radio 1's location in TuneIn is "London, UK" whereas Radio 1 Dance's location is just "UK".

Browser caching/cookies might have a bearing too

The Beeb has a couple of help pages, see below. The VPN being within the UK may not matter, as it could be someone abroad trying to bypass BBC access restrictions...

That sounds like bbc .com, the international website. Were you running a VPN temporarily? bbc .co.uk can redirect to bbc .com for non-UK users (and vice-versa)

If you successfully used the Sounds app over a VPN to the UK, it should continue to work without the VPN for about a month, though you probably won't get UK-only content without the VPN.

Radio 1 Dance was added to TuneIn in September, after the BBC started broadcasting it on DAB+ in the UK
