Very glad to have watched this- I've always wanted to get to know more of Satoshi Kon's work, and I look forward to seeing/watching more in the future.

Turns out that by not watching the whole series, and not being old enough to understand the world and people yet, I missed out on the theming of said people unable to face up the problems in their lives, using the hysteria around Lil' Slugger to free them from their worries. But only temporarily.

Despite not fully grasping what was going on with the story, I could grasp the emotional context enough to get the gist of it- people getting stressed out and reaching the end of their rope, until this mysterious kid comes swooping by, smacks them, and suddenly they're not so worried anymore.

Finally watched Paranoia Agent after all these years (thank you @spwinktap.bsky.social). I only had vague recollections of this show, captivated by its bizarre opening blasting my ear drums when I woke up from an ill-timed nap sometime around 2-3AM, with Adult Swim on the TV.

Every time I see a tank in movies or video games just barrelling through streets without meaningful infantry screening it just makes me cry inside. Most of the time your best use of heavy hardware like that is as a explosively heavy sniper that can very rapidly deploy.

Funnily enough if this was ARMA that would be exactly what I would want the tank to do, providing support to infantry from a distance that it could not be easily taken out itself, and able to hull down via terrain rapidly as necessary.

Different games, different priorities- I find it funny tho.

Probably Bazriqa- she is straight up a god. Basically a... reincarnation-ish/manifestation of the Egyptian god Bast. So she's probably got the most straight up power.

...Unless you count Cat Ace, in which being the avatar of the author, means they have all the power.

I would say Tabby. Her design actually came together SUPER quick. Like, I drew her a day or two before the tabletop game she was designed for. But when that game fizzled out, I held onto Tabby's design and slowly added more and more to her until she became the character you see now.

I still need to come up with a name for her.

As for becoming, I've become each one at least once except for Irina, Nyanashi, and Tamu.
