Just to clarify: the goal is to increase the human’s cognitive ability (that means - you), rather than outsourcing it to 3rd parties, like organizations or AGI.

Q: Suppose you’d like to rump up your cognitive powers, so that you could catch up with the front line of todays science (Math, Physics, Chemistry, Biology) - how would you do that? Assuming you don’t have 5-10 years to spare for each discipline ;-)

5/ So, what our goal should be? Create another type of being(s) which would be good at (and presumably enjoy) doing Math and Physics? Or maybe designing new tools to help us to better absorb knowledge?

I believe these two goals request totally different approaches.

4/ I highly doubt it. A successful AGI might develop understanding of some field, but _sharing_ this understanding with us would most likely be totally out of reach. Mostly for us, to be able to follow the explanations.

3/ Now, will that really bring us any closer to actually _understanding_ Math or Physics? Will we be able to suddenly shout: “OMG, I understand General Relativity!”?

2/ Imagine we’ve also implemented great human-AGI interfaces, so we can ask the AGI question such as: “Explain the notion of straightness in Geometry”, "Explain what a Tensor is", etc...

1/ Imagine we've finally built an AGI and it can understand Math & Physics, and move these fields forward (not that I believe present LLM are anywhere close, but let's imagine)...

I’d like to share some thoughts on Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). Not about state of the present LLMs and how smart or dump they really are, but rather about the _Why_ of creating it.

I admit, though, I've already moved past the itsec, embracing a new field which I could perhaps describe as "Knowledge Security"...

I'm dying to write more about it and my project/app - which I've been working on for the past 3+ years - but it's still not quite ready... I hope to write more soon! 😃

I feel honored & stunned that the organizers of this year's Chaos Communication Camp named one of the streets with my name! ❤️ (Especially that other streets were named after some true legends!)

At the same time, I'd like officially announced that I'm not dead yet, nor even retired from IT ;-p
