That was my assumption on how it worked going in. The counters also only work by eliminating nodes, so if they prey has a specific route they want... yeah lots of eliminating...

Prey can technically alter the path after the pred on a counter proposal, but yeah, it would be nice for prey to get more say sooner

Yeah because there's no real of way of saying what path you'd want from just the poke. If you want specific nodes you have to deny everything else in a counter proposal too.
