I think thatโ€™s a realistic, objective assessment. Intrigued to see which way things go. If you must have a crisis you might as well get it done straight away.

I love this image. I was raised in the north of England where there are many green woodland valleys with hidden evidence of the regionโ€™s industrial past. This photograph could easily have been taken in Derbyshire, or Lancashire, or Yorkshire. The similarities are remarkable!

I understand that St Andrews hasnโ€™t had much TLC in recent years, but Unitedโ€™s headline highlighting our Carabao Cup draw away against Birmingham City is rather harshโ€ฆ

Went to a gig a couple of weeks ago. Mate brought a bag of false teeth. Worryingly good. A bit like a marshmallow (or a Flump, if theyโ€™re still a thing), but slightly chewier. Weird with ale though.

My SWFC-supporting brother and I used to call the Sheffield derby the Clash Of The Tightโ€™Uns as a tribute to the miserly spending of our respective owners. After our recent trolley dash in January Iโ€™m not sure if this epithet applies any longer - to us, at least.

Just spent four days at WOMADelaide with a good mate whoโ€™s also a dyed-in-the-wool LUFC fan (these things happen). Itโ€™s reassuring to know heโ€™s absolutely as paranoid as any Bladeโ€ฆ. โ€œthatโ€™s it, weโ€™re blowing it AGAINโ€ etc. A tense few weeks lie ahead ๐Ÿ˜ฌ but still, the music was superb as usual.

For context, the headline on this news piece from BBC News Yorkshire has been amended to โ€œChampionship footballer charged with motoring offenceโ€. They go on to say that an earlier version โ€œincorrectly stated that the charge was drink-drivingโ€.

Just listened Kieran, superb as ever. Will you be covering the recently completed sale of Sheffield United at some point, perhaps with your thoughts on the new owners? Cheers!

This is a precise assessment of where the elite game is at right now. A regulator will only have limited powers to affect (or prevent) further change, and top clubsโ€™ self interest will continue to set the agenda. A flashpoint may be if 14 EPL clubs vote to end relegation. Itโ€™s not an impossibility.

Interestingly specific percentage there Danny. Iโ€™d have said more like 98.85%โ€ฆ

I think Iโ€™m turning into an Australian version of Andrewโ€™s dad. Iโ€™ll ask my lads but I suspect I know their answer.

After 14 PL games, Southampton have 5 points. This time last year, we also had 5 from 14, with Hecky getting the chop after our 5-0 loss to Burnley. Must be a red-and-white-striped-teams-beginning-with-S kind of thing. We got to 8 from 16. Wonder if Southampton can catch us in their next two games.

The Chapman family lived down the road from us in the 1970โ€™s. I vividly remember that on hot summer days Steve would sit on their open plan front lawn in a kidsโ€™ paddling pool, splashing the water, with what I seem to recall was an umbrella for a sunshade. A true R&R rebel.

Just got a copy of @willdalrymple.bsky.socialโ€™s The Golden Road from a Mumbai bookstore. Hardback issue. Might need to upgrade my luggage allowance on the flight home to Oz ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Catching a flight Friday morning. Jodhpur to Mumbai. Scheduled duration is (checks info)โ€ฆ yep, 1 hour 40 minutes. No need to bother with Air Indiaโ€™s no doubt excellent onboard entertainment (ahem); you know what I will be listening to. Well done chaps!

Thoroughly enjoyed this latest missive by Roy. I am eagerly anticipating his rendition of the supercalifragilistic Anel Ahmedhodzic song on the next Blades Pod. Should make for superb listening.

A shame Iโ€™m missing the mighty William Dalrymple today in Mumbai - I was in that very same museum just last Saturday! Iโ€™ll have to content myself with his awesome โ€œCity of Djinnsโ€ in the shadow of Mehrangarh in Jodhpur. A vintage book now but still worth a read.

Fair point. I guess the key is to get that first promotion to the PL. Unitedโ€™s 2019 success was the financial catalyst that put them on their way. SWFC could have had a similar journey had Carlosโ€™ team got over the line. If SWFC hang on to Danny, you never knowโ€ฆ my Owls supporting kid broโ€™ hopes so!
