A great detail i noticed in @compulsiongames.bsky.social South of Midnight is that Mahalia — a character who historically helped escaped slaves — is associated with this lantern pattern that also shows the Drinking Gourd/Big Dipper. “Follow the drinking gourd” was railroad code for escaping north.
