1st there was the scandal of propagandizing "violent criminal immigrants" & convincing large portions of the population it was a prob when all data shows immigrants commit far fewer crimes. The only way to deport a lot of immigrants is to deport nonviolent ones because the prob was always made up

I was sole caretaker for my mom in her last yrs. She died at 96. My dad was alive several states away for much of that time & got no help. It's horrible. I had one friend who took a couple shifts w/ my mom at the hospital during those yrs & that was it for help. It's a nightmare & you're on your own

Yes, I think nonvoting is a key piece. But the special elections of the last couple of years also tell me there are Independent & moderate R voters changing their votes to D. And a few districts they've gerrymandered to be majority Hispanic who voted for orange are likely to swing the other way.

I'm waiting for them to find out gerrymandering only helps if you don't pi** off a big % of the ppl you've put in your district. Gerrymandering assumes e/o who voted for you b4 will keep voting that way. Doesn't work if they're too angry to vote or change sides. I think R losses will be way bigger

I don't disagree I just think calling it Universal Health Care instead of Medicare separates it from what went before & all the issues associated with it. People are going to believe the old baggage comes with the new concept if the old name is used.

Most of us have no idea how bad it is inside ICE detention centers because they have kept it hidden. Then a truth teller shows up and says it plain.

The conditions are filthy. The treatment is inhumane. The abuse is Systematic and routine.

My objection is calling it medicare just didn't phrase it well. Medicare imo has too many problems & too much association w/ our current crap health system. Why create something new & give it that name?
