Here's another combo! Give Kani an MP3 to set a color field, boosting Red skills, then have her use FeelingBlue to boost Blue skills. Pinn will move first, then Geo moves after Kani, so you get two boosts in one turn!

And so we got to work! There were some real growing pains but slowly and surely we reached the point where progress was smooth.

"The superficial elements aregone but I think the philosophical and emotional angles cna be salvaged here. This also isn't a sunk cost thing, this premise was what I reached when I just went "what should I make it I started making a game right now at this very moment?" If this premise doesn't land we can try something else again hahaha But effectively I kinda took the genetics of a bunch of different project ideas I had and threw them into the blender right here."

I gave it a couple days and suddenly the new design concept I had really had some legs. Maybe it was less quirky, maybe a bit less unique, but this had the same heart for the story I wanted to tell. This was gonna work for sure!

The people who tested the prototype were fans of Axial and other JRPGs. Perhaps the overlap between that and a teen drama RPG is just too small. We keep the Glacierface and the card battles and the story concept and move onto, like, Tumblr or something. Option 4. Total scrap. We have a big stockpile of game ideas. If Silver Daze was not meant to be, we can simply move onto, like, Obsidian or Almost Infinity or something. Maybe make that Shogunate Era RPG I played around with for like 3 days. We take the skills I picked up for this project with the programming and art and music, and we direct it straight into something brand new. I don't know which direction to take here, to be perfectly honest. To be fair, the feedback of, like, five people shouldn't necessarily be the make or break for a project, but it's all been echoing the same sentiments to the degree that it's officially time to consider a different approach here."

Unfortunately, everyone hated the prototype! I had a small crisis over that to be honest! But it was worth getting knocked down like that, because it forced me to come up with a new idea from scratch on the spot.

I was so excited to begin this project that I actually started it shortly before Axial Disc 2 even came out. We got started on a prototype pretty swiftly, and I really believed in the concept!

So, for starters, I plan on there being a total of seven party members: Hero Blue, AKA Pinn. He's the main character, a self centered kid who's only in on the whole "saving the world" gig to impress his girlfriend. He has a drill arm weapon.

The original concept for Silver Daze actually goes all the way back to 2019! It was a very different concept back then, one that was so different I've still got it in my back pocket just in case we can make it work.
