Delighted to be taking part in this workshop today, thank you for hosting us @eurohealthhist.bsky.social !
It's notable that humanities and social sciences once again make up 50% of ERC starting awards in Ireland (a notably higher proportion than in other countries) despite the weak financial support for research in these disciplines nationally. We should fund what we're good at!
First archive visit of #UCARE1945 today in La Courneuve Archives Diplomatique, I’m very excited to get going! @uccresearch.bsky.social @mariescurie-ire.bsky.social
Same but with history of Nazi Germany/Holocaust
Not to be obnoxious and do the "as a historian" thing but I never honestly thought that my research/teaching on the histories of eugenics would ever be as acutely relevant in understanding the present, and goddess knows, I wish it wasn't the case
Delighted to take part in the press conference on the official launch of the Victims of Biomedical Research under National Socialism today - you can find the full database online now; ns-medical-victims.org/institutions...
I’m on LinkedIn now, no idea how to add all the bits and pieces - just in case you see a very odd profile with no info trying to follow you, that’s probably me 😅
It’s publication day for Do Less Harm 🎉 congrats to @drkyliesmith.bsky.social @cethompson.bsky.social for all their hard work in putting this together, and to all the co-authors. Can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy www.press.jhu.edu/books/title/...

Fantastic position for any #histmed people!
Congrats Agnes!
Being bilingual doesn't mean I'm perfectly fluent in two languages it means I often can only think of the word I want to use in the language I'm not using
And this is exactly what is so insidious about eugenics: these ideas have persisted and are encouraged, but too often we balk at calling eugenicist ideas and people exactly what they are. Not to mention too many people don’t know what positive eugenics is, or that eugenics is not just Nazis.
How kind of you, thanks for sharing!
Thank you!

June is Refugee Awareness Month.
This month, we’re sharing stories that matter—like You Don't Know What War Is by Yeva Skalietska.
At just 12 years old, Yeva fled war-torn Ukraine. Her diary is a raw, unforgettable account of survival and courage. @costprogramme.bsky.social
A bit late announcing it, but delighted to say the project I worked on @leopoldina.org funded by @maxplanck.de is now available online! The database of the victims of biomedical research under National Socialism is open access, including biographies ns-medical-victims.org/mpg-project

We found that AI tools - both general like #ChatGPT and research-specific like #Elicit - lack the reliability, relevancy and accuracy to summarise research for teachers. This is important because we have been sold the idea that AI will make research more accessible.
A truly brilliant conference @hiddencostaction.bsky.social, major thanks to @jenniferredmond.bsky.social for putting it all together 🎉 @costprogramme.bsky.social
