Yay! More economic growth. We're all saved now.

I don't know about you, but I'm counting on economic growth looking after me when I'm old. My kids will be too busy making money and looking at screens. But, I know economic growth will be there when I need her.

And? So what?

Christmas sales growth, means: more micro-plastics in our bodies, fatter humans, more extraction of resources, pollution.

Try and find an article about humans caring for their elderly more, or spending more time with their kids. Hard to find. But economic growth, is everywhere.

Some things never change. The US invades another country and takes their oil. The oil companies and shareholders make a fortune. The cycle repeats.

I don't think we should focus on what Trump is doing in the energy space. Renewables are on a massive uptrend. The world needs them. He can't stop their growth.

We should focus on WHY we need to build all of this energy infrastructure in the first place.

Get rid of the rest of the grass in my back garden, to increase the size of my veg garden. And grow more of my own for my family, in order to help reduce the reliance on industrial food systems. 🥦

I haven't used Facebook in 6 years. I haven't used Instagram in 5 years. I've never used WhatsApp.

I suggest everyone removes themselves from all Meta platforms. It's a small way we can disrupt the machine.

And once again, it all comes down to consumption.

300 million people flying this Xmas. To bring presents to people, they probably don't like, to sit in a house, which is probably too warm (or too cold, if in Florida), using too much energy and eating too much.
