Scientists at Canadian institutions have long punched well above our weight despite low and stagnant funding. Spending a billion dollars on external recruitment while science here is starving is exactly what Harper got wrong about supporting research excellence in Canada.
Shoot, thanks for pointing it out. It was private while the paper was being reviewed. I’ll switch it to public tomorrow.
Thanks a lot, Pete, for the kind words, they’re really appreciated!
Thanks a lot!
Thanks a lot Graham!
It was a team effort driven by multiple individuals. A big thank you to Véronique, and everyone else, and NSERC for funding
It is a nice way to end the week: our improved RAB GTPase BioID map now online! www.nature.com/articles/s42... We hope it will be useful to the community, and we're happy to share any reagents!
Here is a very nice preprint from the Lussier lab!

Bravo Islam! I remember your poster two years ago in Banff! I am looking forward to reading the manuscript!
Congrats Mike!
Fantastic opportunity if you are interested in moving your lab to Montreal, Canada! Through this program, Chairholders will be awarded up to $1 million per year for a period of 8 years.
Contact me if you are interested.

We're looking for postdoctoral scholars to join our team in Vancouver 🇨🇦. We work on cell-based approaches aimed at curing type 1 diabetes. Bring your own ideas for projects or work on one that's already funded! More details here: www.nature.com/naturecareer...
We've been studying mechanisms of resilience that protect lysosomes from damage and wrote a review on the topic. We consider lysosomal stress and damage on a spectrum. Please help me share as this is my first post 😀 and I don't have many followers! 🙏 Open Access: www.embopress.org/doi/full/10....
Two new lab manuscripts describing new insight into VPS29’s role in Retromer vs Retriever, and the identification of a non-classical Commander pathway in melanosome biogenesis. Both with @BrettCollins.bsky.social lab. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1... and www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
Postdoc opening in my lab, joint with Prof Lee-Hwa Tai, to develop genomics, transcriptomcis and immunology pipelines for cancer immunotherapy.

Looking for a high qualtiy scientific meeting being held in Canada this year? The 12th Canadian Developmental Biology Meeting (Regional SDB @socdevbio.bsky.social meeting) is happening May 25-28 in Kelowna BC. Registration is now open! www.sdbonline.org/meeting?Reso...
I was thinking the exact same thing. We get most of our TC media from @Wisent. We will switch to @Biobasic for cloning and we have a great relationship with @GénomeProLab in Sherbrooke for all our transgenic flies.
Time to share our organelle proteome paper
out in @cellcellpress.bsky.social: doi.org/nzwz
We created a spatial map of human cells using organelle immunoprecipitation at scale.

Congrats to everyone involved! I am looking forward to reading it!
Wow! This looks really interesting! Looking forward to reading it!
Now that science bsky is a thing, I would like to remind you that my Department has two faculty openings in cancer biology/-omics/immunology.
Come work with me - We have a very supportive environment, big dreams, and life in Sherbrooke is so good!

We developed #RESI (Resolution Enhancement by Sequential Imaging), a #DNAPAINT based single-molecule method that achieves 1-2 Å localization precision and sub-nm resolution using a conventional fluorescence microscope and standard reagents. 1/13
Thanks a lot Nicanor!
Thanks a lot Brett! It is really appreciated! I am glad to know that it has been helpful. All the best!
We provide data for 23 RABs and have validated numerous associations. Interestingly, we show a functional relationship between RAB14, the EARP tethering complex, and many others. NSERC and a CRMUS research chair supported this study.
For my first post on Bluesky, here is our BioID map of RAB GTPases! It was a collective effort from many in the lab initiated by Benoît, Raphaëlle, and Dominique and followed up extensively by Véronique! I'll happily share the associated data if anyone is interested. www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1...
