We urge voters in Manhattan’s 7th Council District to re-elect Shaun Abreu. @shaunabreu.bsky.social has piloted the city's curbside waste-containerization effort, embraced his district's open streets, and been a champion for new housing production. More here: www.streetspac.org/2025_nyc_pri...

We’re in a housing emergency and all city agencies, including community boards, should act like it.

Borough President @marklevinenyc.bsky.social and Council Member @shaunabreu.bsky.social are showing real leadership by appointing pro-housing members to Manhattan’s CB9.

Thanks to Council Member @shaunabreu.bsky.social for stopping by to take questions from District 7 neighbors and constituents. Great conversations about the need for systems thinking to tackle local issues in New York City.

It was an honor to join the Women’s Chamber for the annual Women in Business Breakfast this week! You know I never miss a chance to talk about my favorite entrepreneur and baker: my mom.

Huge thanks to the NY Women’s Chamber of Commerce or their ongoing advocacy.

Today, on Yom HaShoah, we pause to remember the six million Jewish lives lost during the Holocaust.

We honor their memory by uplifting the voices of survivors and renewing our commitment to fighting antisemitism, bigotry, and hatred.

The Bloomingdale Family Program in Manhattan Valley is as good as it gets for early childhood education.

When we talk about spending our tax dollars wisely, this is what we’re talking about. Pre-k, 3-k, Head Start: investments in families and the future.

Mayor Adams continues to undermine the City’s Zero Waste goals β€” first by cutting composting education, then by claiming that they had all the resources needed for a successful residential organics rollout. Clearly, that was a lie.
When the administration refused to invest in public outreach, the Council stepped up β€” funding $6.25 million so trusted nonprofits could spread the word. Meanwhile, this administration has fumbled a citywide rollout of a program that had already been successfully piloted.
If DSNY’s $1.9 billion budget can’t fund basic education, what are we even doing? The Mayor can’t cut corners, botch the rollout, and then blame New Yorkers for being confused, especially when he never prioritized educating them on the rules in the first place.
We’ve heard from New Yorkers β€” they want to do the right thing. But the City has to help. That means investing real money in education, not outsourcing the job to stretched-thin nonprofits and hoping no one notices the failure.

Despite Setbacks, Harlem’s Brotherhood Sister Sol Thrives Three years after opening its visual jolt of a new headquarters, the Brotherhood Sister Sol has become even more of a haven for the young people it serves.

Afterschool programs are life changing for kids and families, and nobody does it better than The Brotherhood Sister Sol.

If every kid had access to a place like BroSis, this city would be unstoppable.
