That is why I am a Born-Again Atheist. I was born as an atheist, recovered from the religious programming as a teen bh thinking that through, and so was born again as an atheist. Hallelujah!

I support learning about and appreciating ancient wisdom. But devotion to irrational beliefs that you allow to rule your life, that were written 1500-2000+ years ago (e.g. Judeo-Christian Bible, aka Goat Herders Guide to the Galaxy, or the Koran) is manifestly unhealthy for society.

I was born with the capacity for rational thought. I was raised in a Christian/Catholic home, school and community. In my teens I thought about it myself and saw religion as flawed thinking. That is when I became a born-again atheist. That freedom feels great!

The institutionalized abuse of children in teaching them this religious belief still shocks me after decades. Unquestioned, uncritical belief in a collection of writings from thousands of years ago that causes a parent to inculcate those beliefs in their own children is, to me, indefensible.

Narratives & emphasis are shifting so quickly as the current ruling class has to keep switching up what they are pitching or hiding from us. That juggling is getting more and more difficult to maintain. Mixing metaphors, their house of cards is collapsing.

It is a good and healthy part of me as a living animal. But it doesn't define me.

I know, right? Look, I get that people who have been only/mostly exposed to right-wing (etc.) views literally can't think well. But many MAGA followers, & other, worse, right-wing zealots who only use Trump as a tool, can think. And many "independents" need to think now. No more excuses.
