I'm sorry but "we went too far in fighting racism" is not a take I consider serious from absolutely anyone who considers themselves on the left so long as mass incarceration, the eviction crisis, the school to prison pipeline, educational segregation, lead water pipes, and the economic draft exist.

You didn't "fail" to make an unworkable situation work. It was not on you to make the unworkable work. You should not have been put in the position of believing that it was your job to make the unworkable work. You don't deserve to be punished for the unworkable not working.

yeah it baffles me as well. am I not here to learn? also stuff like, my friend was just diagnosed with a disease so in order to be able to understand what they’re telling me about it, I also read about it elsewhere. so that I don’t make her miserable having to tell me basic shit repeatedly
Neurodivergent brains are more like cornstarch slurry (“gak”). If you’re pushing them with a lot of pressure they stiffen up & crack. Conversely if you can just let go & create a usable space for them, they can be very effective at achieving the same thing
Think of your brain as a literal material. If you’re not operating with disabling neurodivergence, it’s like clay. Might be hard to work with under certain conditions but generally speaking you can make it do kind of the thing you want it to do
Thinking about how certain types of tics work has kind of opened up how I think about other forms of neurodivergence as well. I’m going to be annoying & use a metaphor & speak really, really broadly
yeah I just meant because customers who are jonesing for something are always at least a little more irritated or unhappy. like morning coffee shop shifts suck imo, but evening coffee shop shifts are nice

the worst retail jobs are ones where you sell people an addictive substance that they’re out of, imo. the best ones are the ones where you sell people a special treat that they don’t usually get.
