UK launches operation to support thousands of Britons in Middle East Officials are understood to be working on plans to evacuate British nationals, should airspace remain closed.

What's happening in Dubai bolsters the argument taxes should be based on people's nationality, not just their country of residence (ie the US model).

If Brits living abroad can expect to be airlifted out by virtue of being British, they should pay some tax towards that.

I’ve not really spoken about the BrewDog situation yet because honestly, I’m just a bit over them. Perennially bored of the headline-hogging and resultant pile on when there are infinitely more interesting beer stories out there that continue to go uncovered.

Various British icons that are here through direct or parental immigration laid out like Sgg Peppers album cover which also is a result of immigration.

Just a reminder to any racist millionaire football club owners out there that without immigration we wouldn't have any of this

The cover features Asterix and Obelix decorating a Christmas tree in the cover. Asterix is standing on the shoulder of Obelix so he can reach higher on the tree.

The December 16, 1965 issue of Pilote magazine. Cover by Albert Uderzo.

My lovely partner has stared an advent calendar for me, this was yesterdays. Not sure if it's all alcohol based yet. I love Brasserie de la Senne, hoping to pay a visit next year

Sgt Peppers album cover consisting of things that only made it because of immigration in to the UK, either immigrants themselves, the children of or as a result of someone else coming here.

Farage wanting to kick people out of the country because they migrated here made me angry and made me think about which best of British people and things wouldn't have happened were it not for the brilliance of immigration to the UK.

Wouldn’t it be awful if everyone shared this poster created by a child to save Brighton’s Rottingdean Library which Brighton & Hove City Council have removed from the library www.instagram.com/p/DNoBYGdNYd...

Mae Jemison wears a bright orange NASA space suit and holds her helmet for a photo

Since we’re all talking about it I want to blow up a real female space pioneer, Mae Jemison, an actual astronaut. She’s a graduate of Stanford and Cornel Medical School, served in the peace corps, started an educational nonprofit, and worked for the CDC researching vaccines. That’s a woman in space

Through The Fields, is a mixed fermentation beer, aged in one of our oak foudres then rested on fresh, local elderberries.
On Friday 28th March we are releasing this beer in a limited number of 20l kegs, across the UK. Pouring in truly fabulous pubs and bars the remainder will be in 750ml bottles.

Is craft beer in crisis? In our latest Substack post @philmellows.bsky.social visits a pub called The Independent to find out how a constantly changing variety of beers brewed by independent brewers can be the key to success: britishbeerbreaks.substack.com/p/drink-up-t...

Can we take a moment to celebrate this train. 9167 will cross 4 countries this evening and dive beneath the sea on its way from Amsterdam to London. We took over from our Dutch colleagues in Brussels. It's quite simply Europe on rails, and it makes me very proud indeed. 😊

A terrible photo of a pint of Harvey's Best, taken after having had several of them. Harvey's use Isinglass to fine their beers, giving them their famous clarity.

Fact of the day: The word "isinglass" comes from the Dutch "huizenblaas" which literally means "sturgeon bladder".
