Remember in Deep Space 9 when the Defiant exhausted a power core they held a ceremony explaining how its sacrifice paralleled their own Sisyphean struggle? That’s me when it’s time to throw away a scrub daddy.

The F1.TV intro is somehow even worse. Same music, but with a terrible clunky music edit that must’ve been done by the video editor.

It was definitely talked about. Not on, like, national TV news, but definitely articles and on BlueSky (which is how I found out)

That’s @memoriamatters.bsky.social! Brilliant videos, among the many others she does like “vibe testing” older consoles

There was exactly one positive thing I heard about the whole game, which was @jesseguarascia.com deliberately not using fast travel and coming across an old woman who just wanted you to have dinner with her, like she misses her grandson or something. But the game points you away from that entirely.

ASMR is in fact just weird and nobody seems to be saying it. I’m personally convinced in 100 years it’ll be one of those wacky fad health belief things like we read about from folks around the early 1900’s.

The narrative I’ve heard (“heard” being the operative word) is that Keighley loved the game so much that he insisted it be the TGA finale, instead of their original plan to shadowdrop it, which meant a rushed trailer. I doubt a shadow drop would’ve been good, but the reveal gave it a negative tone.

Working while watching the Olympics is great, except for every 10 minutes they play an ad for Slack that includes their notification sound like a dozen times 😑

I don’t disagree either. PowerShell is cleaner and more readable than bash and batch for sure. Even if PS was baked into Linux though, it would still have a long way to go in reducing complexity for regular or slightly-familiar users.

That isn’t fully what I meant, mostly was just an example to say I’m at least a little used to using a terminal…but also, MacOS Linux do have PowerShell, since PS6! I don’t know many details of it (feature pairity, installation, etc), haven’t had as much Linux time to explore it, but I have hope.

Responded to the other fellow too, but you can see why I was baffled when it didn’t work for me! To be clear I love PowerShell and had no problem using the bash terminal to sort it out, but it seemed like the most relevant example of Linux generally needing a little more love to use.

To be clear, I love Windows PowerShell and have no problem popping open the bash terminal, which I did. It just felt disingenuous to say OP was exaggerating when some simple things like that can mysteriously fall through.

And yet, if it isn’t on Flatpak (or the Flatpak one has problems) then you’re right in the situation described. I ended up there with multiple programs, but most surprisingly Spotify (dual-booting Mint).

Where is our national press? The government has been shooting at and harassing clergy for months. This used to be a red line. The reality is their red line moved, not yours. They’re cowards.

To be fair to the industry as a whole, they were projects with particularly strong corporate oversight and therefore bland identity (which contributed to them not succeeding…you can guess which from my bio)

I suspect this is one of many reasons AI use crops up in AAA: It’s just not done there anymore. In my career I’ve been told putting in Easter Eggs would be grounds for disciplinary action, if not firing.

You might've heard that Mpls public schools went hybrid bc so many families are in hiding. Well, a coworker just told me that today, during his kid's hybrid class, a kid's apt building was raided onscreen

That symbol is pretty common in DAWs to represent flipping polarity, but it seems odd to use in what’s otherwise a video editor. Not to mention being hidden behind some menus

Of all the possible buyers, Netflix is probably the best realistic one. Certainly beats being owned by the Saudis, who it seems were also a major contender.

If we get told to stop doing Post for external productions, that might be a bad sign, but that seems unlikely for many reasons.
