The ghoul echoes with a soft smile.

“Best of luck, Stern.”

“Ah, I understand that… It takes a moment to find what you enjoy, si?”

I just tried pumpkin for the first time

That sounds nice…

“What do I do…”

He hums thoughtfully trying to think of the best way to explain.

“I make sure that guitars are in good condition for the project…”

“Stern…”

The ghoul echoes the name, trying to memorize it.

“Ah, yes, introductions… I am Rift.”

It is quite a lot being a new summon…

It is nice to have some time off.

“I could not ask for anything else… You have done so much for me. If I may ever be able to do something to repay you, please do not hesitate to tell me.”

He chitters softly, already fidgeting with the slug again.

Rift didn’t quite understand exactly what the other did, but nodded along.

“I see.. I will keep that in mind. It was nice to meet you, Augustus.”

His attention was immediately taken from the fidget. His cheek flush and his tail begins to wag.

“Thank you, sister…”

I am surviving…

“I am a guitar tech, thus why I will be on such a journey… Yourself?”

He paid no mind to the other’s repeating of his name.

“Fidget…”

He echoes the word and moves it around in his hands. A small smile appears on his face. It was a hit.

His tail begins to wave as looks in the tote bag. His chest rumbles with a loud purr.

“Thank you, sister… Truly.”

“Augustus…”

He echoes with a small nod. His own grip was less firm, but perhaps that was from his prior anxieties.

“I believe this one suits you…”

He says after examining his collection for a moment. He enjoyed picking up new ones on his walks and giving them to people that reminded him of them. It was a nice piece of rhodonite.

“I have been coping…”

The ghoul looked like he hadn’t slept in a while. The room was pretty basic other than his personal guitars and a rock collection.

“You are a kind one… I am Rift.”

He offers a hand, realizing he hadn’t introduced himself yet.

“Thank you, sister. You truly did not have to go out of your way for me…”

The ghoul’s tail waves happily behind him. He steps aside so that she may enter if she wished.

“One can only hope… It is quite incredible at the same time, yes?”

Rift smiles back. The conversation with the other ghoul seemed to be helping.

Rift answers quickly, having continued his pacing in his room. His expression softens at the sight of her.

“Topside can be quite frightening… Sometimes I wonder if humanity has evolved too far.”

The ghoul chuckles somewhat awkwardly, though he was really only half joking.

“I cannot think of anything in particular… Motion sickness seems to be my main problem.”

“I do not know… I feel like I should have been more acclimated by now…”

“I get so dizzy… They go far too fast…”

Rift shivers at the thought.

“I am unsure… To be quite honest with you, I can hardly stand cars…”
