Senators reportedly involved in exploring the deal include Jeanne Shaheen (NH), Gary Peters (MI), Maggie Hassan (NH), Jon Ossoff (GA), Mark Kelly (AZ), Peter Welch (VT), Tammy Baldwin (WI), and Elissa Slotkin (MI). Their support could tip the balance.

They say ending the shutdown protects the vulnerable. But the CR reopens only the government’s ability to enforce austerity. This isn’t compromise—it’s silent gaslighting. The people lose twice: to the shutdown and the deal.

A group of Senate Democrats are exploring a deal to end the shutdown via a short-term CR. But the CR doesn’t restore ACA subsidies or SNAP. Premiums will rise. SNAP cuts are locked in. The pain continues, deal or no deal.
