Hi. I'm gonna try returning here. I'm still going to avoid political content as much as possible though (by using the moderation settings), since it's still really stressful. I want to have somewhere to post my silly drawings, and this site is probably the best option for that use case.

(It's not the fault of anyone I follow btw. It's the fact that the USA is being run by jackasses who have 0 empathy, and I'd be better off not letting that be front-and-center in my mind.)

This also means I'm gonna close commissions. I MIGHT keep posting my art to other sites, but my BlueSky accs will probably be unused unless shit somehow improves in the world.
My sibling noticed how much my mental state is declining, so I think I should try not to doomscroll so much.

My mental health is in the drain and I feel like I'm at my last resort, which is just not having a presence on sites where I can see shit going down. I cannot deal with it, and I'm getting to the point where I'm becoming a potential danger to myself.

So uh, I'm probably not gonna be active on this site for an indefinite time. I feel like the doom-and-gloom of being in the USA is really getting to me, and I think at this point being blissfully unaware of the shit going down here is probably the better option of this dilemma.

Jokes aside, I should try to get into GW2 more, as my main MMO (Dungeons & Dragons Online) is kinda empty. I have about as many hours in DDO as there are players online across all servers at a given time (which is 1.3k). I let nostalgia blind me for quite some time lol

Charr are the only playable characters that exist in GW2, I ignore the others. If some mf says "erm, but Asura" I will slap them with a tomato

Bowen (the corgi) and Lancer (the fennec fox) tried switching outfits with each other, although they kept the color palette about the same as their usual outfits.

I don't like Nintendo (their legal team is full of shit), but I will admit they do a nice job optimizing their games. DLSS and FSR were marketed as a thing to help lower-end hardware run games, but it's VERY frequently used as an excuse to not optimize games, and we'd be better off without it. (4/4)

... for consoles because it forces devs to optimize their games. Monster Hunter Rise, for example, got a PC port after being exclusive to Switch for a while, and despite using the same engine as MH:Wilds, Rise runs FAR smoother because the devs put actual effort into optimization. (3/4)

Upscaling is also one of the 2 things causing new games to be blurry. The other is Temporal Anti Aliasing, but that's a different conversation. As for Nintendo, they have REALLY weak hardware, so Switch games have to optimize a lot more than PC. Maybe weak hardware isn't such a bad thing... (2/4)

I blame Unreal Engine 5 and upscaling tech for this problem. An increasing number of AAA devs are using UE5, and most games I see most UE5 devs push optimization aside because DLSS and/or FSR are crutches that they think they could rely on for performance. (1/4)

Let me know when someone mods in the ability to play as an anthropomorphic creature of some kind in Avowed. Elder Scrolls has Argonians and Khajiit; I don't like the trend of most fantasy RPGs nowadays not going beyond human/elf for playable characters. I wanna play as a silly animal dude, dammit
