Also started researching cloud sync. Never built syncing before so I don't know what to expect.

Added a version history for notes. When you enable it, every update is saved locally. You can view up to 50 past versions, preview them by date, restore any version or delete ones you don't need.

I'm adding a lifetime plan. The free plan works as a regular note taking app and with the lifetime plan you can bring your own API keys to use AI chat and AI tools without a subscription.

Still working on Grape Pro plan. Vector search and autocomplete are now included as part of it.

Autocomplete especially helps a lot while you're writing.

Started working on the AI chat backend for Pro users. After upgrading, you can use AI chat right away without adding any API keys with everything handled on the Grape backend.

there are already tons of free note taking apps so i decided to cut the lifetime plan to simplify the pricing

I had both lifetime and subscription plans but it made pricing feel complicated so I reduced it to 2 plans.

I'll focus on selling the Pro plan and use the Free plan to get feedback from people.

Finished the upgrade flow today. Clicking upgrade button opens Stripe checkout, you complete the payment, return to the app, and your Pro plan is activated instantly via webhooks and deeplinks.

Added a new Grape Pro tab in settings. You can compare plans there.

Also working on the login part. Login opens the browser and you login with Google then return with a deep link. I think I'll start dealing with the payments now.

I've started working on the onboarding. When you open the app for the first time, you'll get a simple welcome screen and a few starter notes.

There's no login or anything like that. You just start taking notes right away.

Today I created my first US company with Stripe Atlas. Actually Claude Desktop did it. I think I'm the first person to start a company with AI.

I chose the name Shiny Grape, LLC because it was taking me forever to find a name.

Today I realized I've built way more than an MVP. Tons of features nobody asked for. I still had more in mind but decided to work on subscriptions.

I'm thinking $19.99/mo for unlimited AI. Is it good to go?

Spent the whole day switching note storage from html to Lexical's json format. This will make syncing and diffing much easier later.

Also added a drag handle to blocks so reordering them is now much simple.

Added a fun feature today. While waiting for AI tasks like extracting texts from images or transcribing audio, you can open a Snake game in a separate window.

When the AI finishes, a small chime plays so you know it's done :)

Added a text extraction feature for images and pdfs. Now you can import your handwritten lectures or scanned notes and let AI extract the text so you can work on it.

Added quick prompt buttons to the AI chat. You can create your own prompts and run them with one click. Great for repetitive tasks like summarizing or translating notes and it saves a lot of time.
