NEW PAPER: Migrating common snipes in better condition show stronger immune responses, suggesting high-quality individuals maintain immunity. Abundant food at stopovers may help replenish reserves for immunity.

2/2 As a young baby, I would stop breathing in the pool and start to turn blue which would have been terrifying for my family. The triathlon felt like an even bigger accomplishment as the swim leg was in that same swimming pool I went to as a baby.

1/2 Yesterday I completed my second ever #triathlon. I spent the first 38 years of my life being terrified of even getting in to the water. Usually I prefer to keep this account for science, nature and ornithology related content but this feels like the kind of achievement worth celebrating!

1/🧡 One of the main drivers of 🌍 change is pollution
Birds foraging in landfills eats #plastics that egest in natural areas by pellets in a process known as biovectoring
